Championship caliber teams dont choke 20pt leads in 3 out of 4 games.

1 year excuses the last 6?

They overcame their style of play with talent this year. Dont let that make you think being in the bottom 5 in assists every year is conducive to post-season success. Our "flow" offense is stagnant as fuck.

Yeah if people want proof I can point to at least 10 different things that I've pointed to for years and became even more obvious during their run.

Ok well when people say this proves how bad NO / Stotts are as long as you’re consistent with telling them this series is irrelevant then Im ok with your argument. If not its just picking and choosing whats relevant to fit what we want.

I just cannot count them out. If they win game 5 this thing could very well go 7.

The part about the Blazers being a ways off i agree with. They need a reliable 3 and D wing and they need to be healthy.

It's the "LONG" way off part i just don't understand?

And we can all point to about 20 different things that we have all pointed to for years to cancel out your 10 things. But honestly does it have to happen on every thread and in every conversation you have on the board?

Maybe not, if people didnt consistantly defend him and make silly excuses for him. That's a common theme in this.

And no, you cant point out anything that cancels out what I have to say. You can stretch and reach and think you are, thats fine. Nobody has effectively done so.

They're not a Top 5 contender in the league, so yeah.

    Oh Fucking please.....

Who in their right mind thought this team was a championship contender all of the last 6 years.

Enjoy your day Bones. It's painfully obvious the only thing you can do to make yourself feel more validated is to pick apart another persons/teams success. In this case you are picking apart my favorite team and it's players/coach.

I'm a Blazer fan. You want to bash my favorite team and the success it has achieved then have at it. I would rather spend my time on another forum that doesn't have a kid with thousands and thousands of negative comments about my team.

You see how this works. You are not doing this forum any favors at all.

I hope Stotts is watching this series. Hopefully he can take some of the things Nick Nurse is doing and apply to the Blazers. But, I have my doubts.
He is probably on a cruise somewhere ... saying "The Warriors can't be beaten".

Where is POR way off? Just look at the level of defense being played by TOR and GSW and compare that to this team. Not even in the same league. And most people will say we don't have the personnel that TOR and GSW have and I would agree to that. But it's not just the personnel, it's the defensive strategy that is being utilized/coached.

Stotts uses a very passive defense intended run shooters off the 3-point line and to force teams to take low-value midrange shots. Therefore they switch everything causing mismatches all over the floor. That's why POR is always ranked high in 3-pt FG% defense. During the regular season when you play less talented teams that aren't able to adjust and settle for what POR is giving them, it works. But once you get in the playoffs the teams are more talented and have the ability to adjust more easily. They are not going to settle for the midrange jumper, they will pass the ball and kill the defense just like GSW did.

This is why we saw that ridiculous defensive strategy against Steph in Game 1. Stotts thought that they could entice Steph into those midrange shots if they dropped the big into the paint. But this is Stephen Curry. He will never pass up 3s for midrange jumpers, yet pass up wide open 3s.

And until we have a change in the coach or he changes his defensive philosophy, this team will be way off. The problem is, at this stage in his career, Stotts is who he is. Most likely he's not going to change. And they just extended him...

We don’t choke those leads with Nurk. Look at the impact Gasol is making rn for Toronto defensively and GS doesn’t have anyone who can defend players with a shred of post ability.

He's stays in GS hands down if they lose, if he comes back next game and helps them win 3 straight, I think he's gone.

I still think if we had Nurk they wouldn't have swept us. Toronto has defenders with length which is the warriors weakness.
Durant playing would make a huge difference.
