Why would the Warriors downgrade from a Kevin Durant who can't play to an Evan Turner who can?

I think the opposite, they fucked him over by allowing him to play and making it worse.

At least you get a player injury exception with KD

You 100% called it; that the warriors let him go out there and injure it further is awful

I don't know about that. He couldn't play at all next year if the team gets an injury exception. While he's likely going to sit out the year there is a chance he could be back for the playoffs.

If he tore it originally, scoring 11 points in an NBA Finals game with a torn achilles might be one of the greatest accomplishments in sports history.

It very well might have been a partial or minor tear.

IF that's true then the team trainers or whoever cleared him to play should already be fired. Kerr is also to blame for playing him.

The simplest explanation is still that the Warriors told the truth: he suffered a hamstring injury, but that hamstring injury put additional pressure on his Achilles when he played last night. That possibility was recently reported--by Brian Windhorst, I believe.

Whether that possibility, that one could lead to the other, was strong enough that the Warriors committed malpractice by letting him play or whether that was a very low likelihood possibility and what happened last night was simply bad luck, I have no idea.

I'm thinking it was either strained (small micro tears) or partially torn.

Did you see this?? Looks like he's 33 days removed from a strained (partially torn) Achilles.

Adrenaline and shots can do wonders at the beginning of a game. He seemed to only come back because they faced elimination, which means he wasn't actually healed fully. A little dance in the hallway isn't playoff basketball. You can't mess around with an achilles injury. I urge people to listen to Jalen Rose's rant on first take this morning (it's on the twitter feed of this website). He said the practice KD participated in wasn't good. Everything about this just reeks of negligence.

If he initially tore his calf muscle, why did he grab his Achilles?

If he initially strained his hamstring, why did he grab his Achilles?

I had a partial tear in my Achilles while playing basketball. When I watched Durant's response to the initial injury, it was like deja vu all over again.

Sorry to see any player tear anything! Hope he heals up quickly!

Klay Thompson will be a definite benefactor to this huge huge injury. Don't get me wrong KT wouldn't want it that way at all! However, If KD stays now Klay can probably get want he wants as they will need him more than ever. 200 million probably

Can't you people understand what happened? This was no accident.

Lee Harvey Oswald's grandson was seen in the top level of the arena that night. The CIA took Durant out.
