And some think it’s a no brainer that Olshey would offer CJ for AD lol.

AD is in another league compared to PG though.

Ehhh, they’re in the same league contract wise. I just have my doubts that Olshey has the balls to sacrifice CJ for a potential rental.

The concept is the same. George would’ve been as much a game changer as AD. They’re both on a different planet than CJ.

I disagree. One is a top 5 the other is top 15.

Dame must be a lot better than Westbrook for this to be true.

Well we beat OKC in 5 and if PG is on a different planet than CJ and we still won....then Dame must be a hell of a lot better than Russ........unless you think the rest of our team is vastly better than OKC's ( even without Nurk.)

PG btw could not stop CJ.

George was playing through an injury, but was OKCs best player this season and a legit MVP candidate. If we judged players’ value based off of one series, then what would we have gotten for our backcourt last year?

Before Nurk turned into a potential anchor piece? It was, an elite big filling a need. Now? Straight up, I'd agonize over it, and would probably need a signed extension, or some considerations from the Pels and kill the deal by having too high an asking price. (Also, I honestly kind of want to see Jrue and CJ together, I think that'd be a scary awesome combo ... Maybe in the Olympics)

He was not ok since after the All star Break and it showed in the playoffs as well. He had surgery now and will even miss preseason.

To be fair, at the time of the trade George wasn't anywhere near as good as he played for most of this year. He took his game to a new level this year. A lot of people were starting to question just how good he really was in Indiana.

I'm not saying that makes you wrong because the results have proven your statement correct, but at the time of the trade I don't think George was necessarily "on a different planet" than CJ. The difference in size and defensive ability would be the only case to trade CJ for George.

CJ was coming off a season in which he averaged 23 points per game on 48/42/91 percentages and had already signed an extension that locked him up for 4 more seasons. I can't really blame a GM too much for not wanting to include him at that time for a guy who was a likely rental. Now this situation with AD is different. CJ hasn't played as well the last two seasons as he did in 2016-17 and now only has 2 years left until he can also become an unrestricted free agent.

I'm one of those somebodies ;)

    Times, and circumstances, change.

If Olshey doesn't at least offer, then yeah, I'm ordering a truck full of torches, kerosene, and pitchforks.
