It really seems like a stupid move on Rich Paul's part, to me. You've just further cut down the number of teams that would be willing to trade for your guy AND you've diminished the return haul. If I'm NO, I'm like "OK, sit another year. We'll explore trades again at the midseason deadline, and, if AD doesn't play, our own pick will be in the top 10 again anyway."

For all the acclaim Paul seems to get, it often gets ignored that he has absolutely destroyed Davis' public and media perception. He only received 1 third team All NBA vote. He's done more damage to Davis' career than good.

That's a good point, at what point does AD and his agent drive down his value to the point it's better for them to just try to go get another high lotto pick next year and not tie up any money by making a trade.
If AD ends up sitting a year and a half of that can't be good for him as a basketball player...

Everyone has certain, power's and influences, and money and whatever that they use to benefit the ones they care about and trust. Yes, it's a problem (sometimes), but not always.

You know that's not how it's going to work. It will Drastically improve another team with a star and it sure won't drastically improve the Blazers... Every time a team is the third wheel in facilitating a deal, it's like oh you get something super tiny that kind of improves your cap space, or something like that while making another team really good. Making another team better than you ultimately hurts you.
