I think what's driving it is the fact that he ruptured his achilles 12 minutes into his first game back from an injury that many had speculated was an achilles injury... Of course it's very possible that it's just a complete coincidence but given the circumstances it's not hard to see where that disbelief, and finger-pointing, is coming from. They had outside doctors look it over too and sign off, and after further introspection I have to give them the benefit of the doubt, but you have to admit it's one messed up coincidence if that's all it is.

Wes kept playing on a sore Achilles.

    Same result.

    Question is: Same impact?

I wasn't talking about you! Relax.
I was building on to TBF comments and reacting to some of the sport radio shows I was listening to where people were really pissed at the GS organization. Much of what I heard was hate much like whats going on in he political arena.
Sorry if you thought I was targeting you sincerely I wasn't.

Even if someone believes 99% sure that everyone is lying, thats ok, but put the caveat on it that you think that. To act like it’s a fact and blast all of them seems like just an excuse to blast them.

I know @dviss1 said to begin with it was his achilles, and I sort of agree with him, but still we dont know, and I doubt we’ll ever see his medical records. Just dont like blanketing a whole organization as liars and pointing the finger when, we really dont know.

    At least dviss is consistent.

No offense, but the tendency to define any disagreement as "hate" doesn't help.

I do agree, since I used that word I have felt a bit convicted as its one that Ive never used easily. I must be listening to to much radio and CNN, where its used regularly.
At my age I don't need to pick up on slang that the youngsters & radicals use to stir devision. Thanks for your feedback!

To me it just doesnt make since that the org would say its one thing when in fact it was another. That kind of stuff comes back to haunt organization. KD would be the first to call out blame if he knew all along it was his achilles and the whole org sold it as calf. I think its a coincidence but since I'm not a doctor i wouldn't know if the calf injury leads to the achilles injury.
Sounds like they went above and beyond with consultation. Kerr & Meyers strike me as honorable truthful guys too.
It will be interesting to hear doctors take on the relationship of the calf injury to his current condition.

It's probably not a coincidence--multiple people have noted that a hamstring injury can lead to an Achilles injury. What the probability was on that (was it high and Durant was at huge risk? was it low and Durant had an unlucky but not coincidental injury?) isn't clear. What I'm saying is that it almost certainly wasn't an evil conspiracy of lies to fuck Durant over, unless people want to speculate that Durant's own doctors and agent were in on it.

Not an evil conspiracy as much as a team on the ropes and a player who seems to feel he doesn't get enough credit for the team's success. Everybody involved had reason to err on the side of optimism.

Do you remember the season after the Blazers won their only title? Bobby Gross had a leg injury. The team Dr injected the leg with large amounts of cortisone and novacaine and sent him out to play. He aggravated his injury to the point he was never the same. That was callous indifference. This smacks more of bad judgement and wanton wishful thinking.

How do Durant's own doctors have incentive to err dangerously on the side on the side of optimism?

It's entirely possible all the doctors got it wrong (possible...I'm not sure I'd cross over to likely, though), but I don't think anyone involved in the decision believed that Durant was at high risk for a catastrophic injury. I believe Kerr that everyone involved believed that the main risk was re-aggravation of the calf injury.

It makes no sense that with 3 Championships in the last 4 years and a brand new stadium in SF about to open that the Warrior's brass would push a HOF player to risk his career to return too early. Think of how bad the publicity would be if KD came out and said as much. The value of the franchise would tank.

According to reports, the Warriors doctors cleared him plus Durant's personal doctor cleared him. Injuries are a part of sports for every athlete and they're at risk every time they lace them up. The wear and tear of injuries ends almost everyone's career who is any good. Sucks but true. Having to place blame on something that regularly happens is very twitter.
