I really don't think Davis would be happy in Portland. It's clear he wants to be in a major social market. Why, i do not know, but that's clearly his focus. His focus is not on winning but rather glitz and glamour. Does he really think he goes to NYN and they make it deep into the playoffs? That entire group is a trainwreck and the same is true for LAL except they have LBJ. The NYN and the LAL have lost more games, I think, than any other teams over a significant time frame. He wants to be adored and be on TMZ at least once a week. Sad really.

No, I don’t think he’s that reactionary. This season also validated his patience, so I can’t see him all of a sudden breaking the squad up (aka trading CJ and Zach,) although he probably should.

This is why I find it easy to believe that he is being manipulated by LeBron and/or Paul. Even if he was determined to go to LA or NY, why pick the Fakers and Knicks over the Nets and Clips? It seems so superficial.

Disclaimer: unlike many fans, I wouldn't be offended if he was insisting on a trade to one of the 4 conference finalists, or even a promising team like Denver. There is nothing wrong with a player wanting to be in a winning situation. (IMHO)

He wants to be a part of a team with a legacy. But I would offer up: why not start your own legacy? Why just be so unimaginative with your talents and be like "oh I want to be a Laker because x, y and, z where lakers."

With respect to cup's luck thread..
Who's to say after giving up a ton to get him, Anthony Davis comes to Portland, or wherever, and blows out his knee.
    Then what?..
    Could happen.

:dunno: Based on what happened with Roy, maybe we shouldn't give Dame an extension?

Roy’s knees were shot before he got his big contract. Dame’s got no long term health issues and has been durable his entire time here. Pay the man.

What happened in OKC? They’ve won 3 playoff games since the Paul George trade.

I think the NYK part is a smoke screen. His only real destination is Lebron and the Lakers but has to add one at least one other team to his list so he doesnt look like a Lebron fan boi.

PG was hurt. What if we got "MVP consideration PG" during that series. You know, the one that shot the lights out when they swept us?

It would have been way different. But you're missing my point. My point is PG resigned and Kawhi won a championship and is more likely to stay than leave.

But we didn’t and OKC has won 3 playoff games and yes, he was hurt. That’s part of the point. The PG trade has not worked out for OKC.

Except we won’t have our starting and backup center and best man off the bench during the playoffs.

I may be crazy but the more I see of Simons the more I think he’ll be the Blazers bench player next year.

We had best odds of signing Melo last season.

Maybe we will. Maybe we won't. Maybe we'll have other guys, although Nurk would certainly be back for the playoffs.

But, hey, reality isn't going to stop people from getting their panties in a bunch and jumping out the basement window because they are in perpetual gloom and doom mode.
