I can't watch the video! Verizon has cut their 4G service to nothing! Can't hardly do email, forget streaming a video. Why do we have laws that people do not want enforced? I assume that is what is happening.
Well, as I said, I can't watch it. But what is it? They are enforcing a law that you don't want enforced? Tell me I can't see it.
If you cant watch it then you shouldnt make assumptions about it... You can see the Tweet, cant you? Smh.
You dont object to cops immediately threatening to shoot an unarmed pregnant woman in front of her kids because one of them took a 99 cent barbie doll?
The cops do not decide what is unlawful. BTW where do they sell barbie dolls for 99 cents? I need to pass that on to my daughter.
Except the pregnant woman wasn't even accused of breaking any law. She was threatened at gunpoint because her 4 year old allegedly shop-lifted a doll from a Dollar Store. (who cares if it was an actual Barbie or a cheap knock-off?) Were you aware it is possible to investigate an allegation, even enforce a law, without resorting to deadly force?
BTW, it seems the lawyer representing the family is the state's former Attorney General. The former top prosecutor in a conservative state is saying the cops were out of line. Rationalize that away!
I think the officer would have been satisfied if the frightened victim had just died of a heart attack right then and there. Asshole.
It's the punishment supposed to fit the crime or do you believe any force is necessary to apprehend a "lawbreaker" ? NVM, why the fuck am I engaging with you when your first immediate thought is probably a question: "Well, are they black or white?"
It's Phoenix Arizona in early June... AT GUNPOINT THE FUCKING COP TELLS HER TO PUT HER BABY DOWN (THE BABY IS TO YOUNG TO WALK) ON THE HOT FUCKING CEMENT!!!! It was 103 that day... FUCK ANYONE THAT SUPPORTS THIS...
You gotta see it. I don't know what the cops were told prior but ONE cop was an out of control psychopath. Every motherfickin cop on Earth knows the political climate of today and this motherfugger still goes nuts. I'm a bit scared for his family if he has one.
That's not fair. The only black or white he cares about is the letter of the law. Even if this poor family technically broke the law I think the cop could be said to have done worse. Child endangerment? Excessive force? Luckily their new lawyer knows better than me. GETEM!!
I'm not saying it isn't possible but I can tell you that all of the things I've known you to take issue with @MarAzul I've almost always seen the logic in his opinion. Logic that often seems uncaring. Back to that fucking psycho cop I'm sure he's as racist as they come but I'm also sure he'd do the same shit to a white family if they pissed him off. He's just more pissed at poor black people at the dollar store. How dare they waste his time and not do exactly what he screams at them? (Danny Green font I guess) I honestly don't know what the best way to fix this is. Multi million dollar judgements? Then I gotta pay for it. That used to piss me off but fuck it. I pay for all kinds of shit already, what's one more. I don't know the laws but the cops need to be on the hook for the verdicts too, not just us taxpayers. If I were dictator I'd make the cop and the family he terrorized switch houses and cars. Let the cop drive the old Santa Fe (think that was it) and let this family have the hemi Charger or big diesel pickup. 90 percent chance he has one of those or a 5.0 Mustang.
Treat cops like the regular citizens they are. Assaults, harassment, hate crime, why are they immune? If I walk into my job and treat people like this I’d be arrested. It’s on video. There is no explaining this away. Make them pay (literally and figuratively). Lose jobs. Prison. Fines. Maybe being a power hungry cop wouldn’t be so appealing if they knew the consequences.
The Ames family is doing just that. Link to article: https://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/news/phoenix-shoplifting-video-brutality-family-files-claim-11312081 Link to notice of claim: https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/6152346-AmesHarperDrakeNOC.html
You know how when you ride a roller coaster they have the photo of you waiting for you at the end of the ride? Anytime you are stopped by the police they should have to email you the video of your interaction with them.
With facial recognition and technology everywhere they should probably let people go and issue a summons if needed. Then they can stick to writing tickets to fund themselves.
