I love it, Miami doesn’t though. Also can we trade 2020 if we trade 25?

A PG that needs the ball and can't shoot isn't bad next to Harden? There's no way Houston does that. Also, Houston is just going to take Otto Porter Jr. over Turner, Dunn, and Harkless.

How will they get Porter without adding at least another pick? Portland has 25, Houston has nothing of value till 2021 on their own.

Miami had the highest tax bill for a non-playoff team in NBA history last year. They have a ton of big men. If they can save $10M next year and get a young big with talent and a high 2nd round pick to replace Olynyk, I think they'd do it.

And we'd have to draft first before making the trade. You can't trade future firsts two years in a row. After you make the pick, it's no longer a "future first".

Houston sends their 2020 and 2022 1st, and doesnt ask for Dunn.

I think Whiteside is the big more likely to be dealt. Olynyk fits with Bam well.

Whiteside could get dealt too, but he doesn't have any value and any suitors and Miami would probably want assets back that other teams aren't looking to give up. If they can save $10M by jumping into another trade like that and get talent back for Olynyk, it's certainly reasonable. Skal would fit well with Bam too, and he's cheap and young.

I could see Atlanta trading for Whiteside, use one of their first round picks+Plumlee+Spellman.

It is legal if we wait until after the draft and trade the player, rather than trading the pick. Silly distinction, but there you go.

Oops. Got beat by a younger poster. This is no place for old men! :devilwink:

    Atlanta or Miami?

    Atlanta: Get a defensive anchor.

Miami: Cut Salary, gain two young prospects and an expiring contract.

After a 100-year slumber, Rip Van Tpup finally wakes up.

Signing a mediocre player to a max-type contract is a good way to kill a franchise.

I would shop Wiggins too -- He is talented and he is not a giant bust but i do think he needs to get the heck out of Minny and maybe he will grow as a player. He was asked to be the savior of a franchise and he just is not that and he kind of reminds me of Sheed he was not a guy you can hope to be the MAN but he can be a good piece if surrounded by other very good players as we saw of Sheed in Detroit. Also he is grossly overpaid and makes Turner's contract look almost decent and that is saying something ( wiggins makes around 25m per )

Similar to DeRozan but Wiggins shot can be improved, his jumper is smooth at least.

He's already been in the NBA 5 years. Hoping he can start knocking down shots at $30 million per year is a major risk.
