Yes, let’s ignore the improvement of: Allen Crabbe Will Barton Damian Lillard CJ McCollum Zach Collins Aka pretty much every pick since Olshey has been here.
No. I did. You said you didn’t like Trent’s game because he was a black hole. You then listed a bunch of black holes. Logic would dictate that if you don’t like Trent’s game because he is a black hole, you wouldn’t like the others. It’s even more true because most of them stayed multiple years in college and had more time to develop. So yes I read your post in it’s entirety. It’s just plain bad logic.
before Olshey gave Meyers an extension, he really really liked him too. So much so that he actually said "if Meyers believed in himself half as much as I believe in him, he'd be an all-star". Shortly after that, he gave Meyers 41 million dollars. I think Olshey really liked Allen Crabbe too, and at one time, he really liked Evan Turner....right after he liked Chandler Parsons
Two things... 1) Assists aren't always indicative of a player's ability to pass. I prefer to look at AST%. Trent is terrible at 6.8% in college (similar in NBA). Guy was 11.9% last year. Schofield was 12.0% Horton-Tucker was a pretty good 16.2% (well over double Trent). Just to give some perspective, CJ was 13.8% last year. The guys I mentioned are close to him, Trent isn't. 2) Even if I granted you that those guys are also just as bad of chuckers, that still ignores that we'd still have Miami's 2021 2nd round pick too along with said chucker.
Sure glad Jason Quick was out there giving interviews for clicks. He gave us all everything we all already figured and nothing about what was actually happening. I think Jaynes was equally clueless.
How did Baze get $19m salary? What did he do to warrant such money? Was it the same offseason that gave ET his money ?
How are NBA teams not bankrupt yet for paying scrums so much money? ET and Crabbe reunited in Hotlanta ... They only missing Shabazz ... to complete the trio. lol
yeah, it was the same off-season, 2016 when several GM's were drunk, loaded, and stupid. He hasn't significantly improved since he got that contract
A couple of other teams (Lakers & Rockets) supposedly offered him 4 years, $72 million in 2016. So, he managed to sign with the Hawks at 4 years, $70 million.
yeah, and the Lakers were so determined to grossly overpay somebody they turned to Luol Deng and gave him 70 million....yeeeeesh
Marginal upgrade similar contract but Turner brought the intangibles. I don't get the point tbh. seems lateral. at least we didn't give up value and can throw Baze on a trade for an actual upgrade at the deadline
I can see why you'd say this, but one thing no one has really touched on, and that I think is huge in this trade, is an upgrade in energy and effort. ET sitting nearly out of shape (by NBA standards) already got his and he reminded us of it a lot. He mentioned it a dozen times during his tenure here; he mentioned it in his farewell IG post. He never seemed to be capable of more than 75% effort, except for in bursts. Like physically incapable. Bazemore, meanwhile, is all effort and hustle and will doubtfully remind us of how overpaid he is every chance he gets.
