I think you are reading that incorrectly

you first have to sort for "practical cap-space":

    New York Knicks $72,910,109
    Los Angeles Clippers $59,661,930
    Brooklyn Nets $54,649,410
    Dallas Mavericks $52,157,844
    Atlanta Hawks $49,011,669
    Indiana Pacers $48,834,149
    Los Angeles Lakers $41,772,353
    Philadelphia 76ers $41,237,262
    Sacramento Kings $37,218,991
    Phoenix Suns $25,243,822
    Chicago Bulls $23,827,083
    Orlando Magic $23,548,419
    New Orleans Pelicans $16,872,054
    Utah Jazz $16,780,097

practical cap-space is just guaranteed money without accounting for cap-holds

for instance, LAC has 59.6M in cap-space that is wiped out by their cap-holds:

    Wilson Chandler $19,200,843
    JaMychal Green $14,946,667
    Garrett Temple $12,000,000
    Patrick Beverley $9,551,351
    Ivica Zubac $1,931,189

they could easily renounce Chandler and Temple leaving them with around 30M in cap-space

other teams will have similar circumstances where their range goes from 0 to 25M in space depending on what player(s) they are willing to renounce. They can also quickly sign a player cancelling a cap-hold. The Clippers could re-sign Chandler for 6M and still have 24M in space

I don't see any chance Kanter gets a starting role anywhere in the NBA. Bad teams with space have no reason to give him a big contract and good teams have either tiny cap space or have a better C. At least here he will have a starting spot locked until Nurk is back and he knows he is appreciated and valued. I believe he signs another one year deal here and then he can get some more after those bad contracts we have expire.

The Blazers IG doesn't follow Kanter....

Did they recently unfollow or have they just never follow his account?

I drop more knowledge than him and he knows these dudes.

We need another Meet and Greet so HCP can establish himself again.

Holy shit Dallas pulled out of Enes free basketball camps because of the Dallas Muslim community pressure...Enes has been sentenced to 4 years in prison in Turkey..his father is serving 15 years and he is isolated from his family...Ron Widen is trying to help him and will meet him in DC....serious reality for a guy with such a positive personality and generous spirit..this is another green light for Enes to want to live in Oregon...I don't think big market glamour is the first thing on Enes mind at this point

    I disagree completely.

If we had a healthy Nurk AND Kanter, We'd probably have the best backup big and Center tandem in the league.

Imagine Kanter coming off the bench in the DEN series.

We'd have won it in 5.

So ... you saying that the "Muslims" in Dallas support Erdogan ... ( and Turkuglu and Ozil), while living in the USA where they enjoy freedom of religion ... Some people are just nuts ... if you asked me .

Yeah I would say for once our climate could be a plus in attracting free agents.

If the Lakers pay him more than the MLE that's basically it for big free agents. I can't imagine that is their plan.

I don't think Boston gives up max cap space for Kanter.

I think those teams are hoping he plays for a tiny salary.

He very much enjoyed his time here, I think he only leaves if it's understandably for more money.

I'm liking our chances more of signing him for the tax MLE.

Well, with Kanter we know we only have 28 teams to beat out instead of the usual 29. No way he’s signing with Toronto.

Trade Mo and Meyers for somebody on a cheap deal...somebody like a Vince Carter or a future draft pick(s) maybe a guy on a rookie deal who's a pt guard...then use the money saved to sign Kanter….

I agree and think the blazers have to come up with the cash to keep Kanter and/or Hood. What would happen to cap space if Aminu is handed his walking papers? I am not up on the inner workings of this stuff.
