Nurkic - 10.4 rpg......gone until around Feb/March? Kanter - 8.6 rpg and 13.9 rpg/36 mins. Floating in a FA nebula. Aminu - 7.5 rpg. One of the best parts of his limited game. Turner - 4.5 rpg. Couldn't shoot but was a solid rebounder. That is over 30 rebounds per game that need to be replaced. Some of those will be grabbed by new players just because they are available but I don't see anyone on this roster who has a real nose for the ball until Nurkic comes back. Collins, for all his potential, couldn't grab a rebound in the Playoffs to save his life at times. Meyers can have his moments but it's not a natural instinct. Best remaining FA rebounders/48 are: Kanter - 19.3 Boban -- 18.7 Diallo -- 17.8 Noel ---- 14.8 (it is reported he is trying to back out of his deal with OKC) Vonleh - 14.7 Any of those strike any interest or is there someone else out there that fits the large rebounding hole the Blazers currently have?
Vonleh. I've talked myself into the idea of the Blazers offering Harkless/Trent/pick in exchange for Vonleh on a sign-and-trade deal.
Free agency just started yesterday and this team is done being constructed? I don't think so and Olshey has been very solid in finding bargain basement players to fill a need.
True, and Skal got 10.9 reb/36 min last year. I agree on Vonleh too. Great rebounder and shot 34% last year on 2 attempts/game. I think team rebounding will be the primary answer though.
Very true. Perhaps the most expensive 11 boards in the league....when he is healthy enough to play. I do...but also addressed some of their inadequacies. Zach is so foul prone, being on the court to get rebounds will be a struggle and in the Playoffs, at times he couldn't grab a rebound to save his life. Meyers will get uncontested rebounds and then flex, but it's not a more natural 'nose for the ball' like a Nurkic, Kanter or Vonleh.
