    If we re-sign Anderson Varejao, does his dead money come off our cap? (He asked hopefully but knowing the answer.)

    Man Kawhi is a Drama Queen. But all is forgiven if he spurns the Lakers.

    If he signs there on the other hand.....

    Per Luke Adams of HoopsRumors:

    "Speaking of Saric, the trade sending him to the Suns will need to be completed before the Wolves’ deal with the Blazers, since Layman will slot into the trade exception created by Saric’s departure, per ESPN’s Bobby Marks (Twitter link). That exception will be worth $3.48MM, so Layman’s starting salary is permitted to start at $3.58MM (trade exceptions have an extra $100K cushion)."

    Too bad we couldn't have received Saric out of the deal.

    @BBert too.

    The Lakers/Pelicans trade is being executed after the draft so the 4th pick has no effect on future draft pick compensation or the Stepien Rule.

    Was just reading this ESPN story about the Knicks' free agency choices and came across this bit of info which shocked me:

    Can you imagine a quarter-century of that level of draft ineptitude? Sometimes we need to realize how much worse it really could be.

    Not sure what the situation was there. His 5th year he had a 7M salary, and that jumped to over 10M after he was traded to GSW. Don't know if he had a 1 year deal and then went in a sign and trade, or what. :dunno: Either way, he only played 1 more year in NY after his rookie deal.

    Odd, the Knicks are an awfully strange franchise.

    Players picked before Kawhi in the 2011 draft: "Derrick Williams, Tristan Thompson, Jan Vesely, Bismack Biyombo, Jimmer Fredette and Alec Burks, none of whom averaged 10 points per game for their NBA careers.".

    And we were pissed because we took Nolan Smith over Kennith Faried

    Wow. And this year, their fans finally cheer a pick (Barrett) that I think is the future bust of the draft.

    It was the longest I have ever felt.. about 15-20 seconds. But it was very mild.
    Still waiting for a bigger one to occur that will give me an ocean view.
