So for the next 8 days THE HCP is down here in Vegas for the Summer League for NBA Entertainment. ESPN/NBATV will broadcast the "normal" coverage of the games, while we will bring fans at home and on the internet a "Second Screen Experience"

The league has us testing new technology and telecast elements to enhance the "ever-evolving media landscapes."

    Some examples-
SpyderCam- Like a SkyCam. Will give you that overhead vide0 game look.
Jita Jib- 16 ft jib arm robotic camera.
TowerCam-Robotic maneuverable camera mounted under the big screen.
    Pan-and-Scan Cameras/Pixxelot- 180 degree cameras
    Ref mics/cams
We'll have smartphones throughout the arena shooting fans POV type angles.

Our coverage will be on ESPN3.

Some, but not all of our show concepts-
Popcast-Pop up factoids, stats during the broadcasts.
Courtside Experience- Remote operated cameras 10 rows up and multiple cams in new up close locations.
    AirialCam- Basically an NBA2K view
Vertical View-a mobile viewing experience for those snapchat/instagram fans out there.

7/5-NYK vs NOLA 6:30pm -Vertical View
7/6-LAC vs LAL 4:30pm -Summer League Fan Experience
7/6-TOR vs GSW 9:00pm -Group Textcast
    7/7-CHI vs CLE 4:30pm -Popcast
7/8- WAS vs BKN 2:30pm -Courtside Experience
7/8- NOLA vs CHI 6:30pm -Arial Cam
7/9- PHX vs MEM 4:30pm -Dueling Homers
    7/10- ORL vs BKN 2:30pm Coach's View
7/11 -UTA vs HOU 5:30pm Cable Cam

I know most aren't big fans of Player's Only and things like that. True hoop fans will not want to miss any action, but if you want to see some cool new stuff we are trying out, take a peek!

I FUCKING HATE THE OVERHEAD CAM AND THE VIDEO GAME LOOK

I can't wait until we can choose our own camera angles throughout the game.

X2. This other shit sounds pretty awesome though. @THE HCP - pics like this are REALLY cool. How about stuff like outside the trailer. What cables are needed to do all of this. Pics of the cameras. Maybe a hot cheerleader or two....

    Edit: X3. Lol

I'm not on the ESPN/NBA broadcasts this year, but I'm quite sure you will see a bunch of the sky cam on their coverage. Because of the success of the video games like 2K, they want to show more of it in fact.

Two things I hate on sports telecasts and that's the overhead cam look and the panning to the coach or the crowd while the game is going on.

I'm sorry but that does sound like everything I dislike in a broadcast

How about "DaumCam": We attach a GoPro to Daum's head and just see everything from his perspective for the entire summer league.

    Who said anything about games.

This would be Daum walking around Vegas. Daum watching the games. Daum signing autographs.

This is all Daum all the time. It's like a license to print money.

Las Vegas is the best place for free shits. I recommend the bathrooms at Bellagio or go to the back of Encore or Wynn by their convention rooms and the bathrooms are usually empty and really nice.
