So? Russell can't play that way.

Yeah, I heard that too, just curious what the actual details were.

Not sure how reliable this info is.

    https://clutchpoints.com/heat-news-details-on-miamis-pick-traded-to-clippers-in-jimmy-butler-trade/

Along with Harkless’ expiring contract, the Clippers also acquired a future first-round draft pick with complicated protections from the Heat. Anthony Chiang of The Miami Herald explains the details of the pick:

According to source: Heat's 2023 first-round pick dealt to the Clippers is lottery protected in 2023. If doesn't convey in 2023, also lottery protected in 2024. If doesn't convey in 2024, also lottery protected in 2025. Then unprotected in 2026.

Hmmm thanks. I wonder if that would be the "protected pick" then in the deal.

I love the fact that Stars are going away from OKC as long as westbrick is there. Okc should just part ways now.

At that point I'm guessing OKC would love more picks.

Send them Whiteside and a 2020 1st in the deal with Otto Porter Jr coming back to us.

    Then sign Cousins.

Well, at least the lakers got fucked. And Kwahi-PG is a damn good team, but less scary than Lebron-AD-Kawhi.

That pick haul is crazy. We now have 2 team in LA that are absolutely fucked if something unexpected happens to their "super-team". And the way free agency went for the Lakers, they might already be sweating it a bit

Another thing is what does OKC do with Russ ? This move is basically them giving up contending for a title in favor of building for the future, I can't think Westbrook is happy with that

I'm inclined to question that assertion

the Lakers only had Kuzma as a rotation player. They would have had to fill out the roster using the room-MLE and minimum contracts

the Clips have Lou Williams, Shamet, Beverly, Harrell, JaMychal Green, Mo Harkless, McGruder, and can bring back Zubac

to me, the Clips look like the better, deeper team than what the Lakers could have put together

In fairness to OKC and Westbrook, they didn't get any further in their 2 seasons with George than they did in the year Westbrook had to do it all himself.

I've never thought the Dame/CJ pairing is that great

but I can't think of a worse guy to put in Dame's back court than Westbrook

What do the Lakers have to trade at this point? AD?

SO WHY WE DIDN'T TRY TO GET HIM!??!!??!?!?!?
Rival NBA teams have been aware of the discontent of OKC's two stars: Paul George -- and Russell Westbrook

This makes for some great competition. But you know what the important thing is?

The Blazers are good enough to beat any of these teams in a seven-game playoff series.

Clippers had space for an unbalanced trade.

We also couldn't give up 5 1sts. Would you have given up 4 Unprotected 1sts in the next 7 drafts for him?

From what I heard, George didn't want a trade until Kawhi approached him about teaming up with the Clippers.
