Wonder what the plan is? There is no way the Blazers go into the regular season with.... C: Whiteside/Skal PF: Collins/Tolliver/Hezonja ....is there?
If Jabari has to settle for the minimum I’d give him a look. I think PF is still wide open for Portland. Everyone knows he sucks defensively but the guy can score and is a decent playmaker. And he’s had good shooting seasons from outside as well, especially in catch and shoot situations, so who knows, maybe he just needs a coach that’ll encourage him to let it fly. I like his fit next to our centers who are, or should be, plus defenders. He’s still only 24. Looking at who’s left, he really wouldn’t be that bad of a gamble. Plus his agent is Bartelstein so I’m sure Olshey has to hit a quota.
They have beat out the Sun's as the worst run team in the association. I'm fine with the Julius signing, there is upside. But the rest of those moves make no sense, just use your cap space in trades to get 1st round picks, you are tanking next season anyways. Why would they sign 35 year old backups like Taj Gibson to 8 figure deals? It seems that they totally change their direction every year.
Id pass we have plenty of options on offense, we need someone who can defenend as well as accept a 3rd string role. I think Jabari would want to play too many minutes.
Carmelo? Yeah he probably is available for the minimum but I wouldn't sign him. I think we need more defense, ideally a backup PF/C
