Wasn’t Olshey with the Clippers when they drafted Livingston?

I don't think it will happen but I also want Livingston in a veteran PG mentor-role. I don't care for the other PG's and would go big if we don't get him (I am one of the people who think we keep 1 spot open going into the year).

Livingston would be perfect here imo

I’m guessing he’s staying in California though.

What does Livingston as a backup PG offer that Turner didnt when he was here? No thank you.

It's a backup PG who can not shoot at all. And turner was a better creator at the point than him. He's a big PG who is essentially good for a few post ups a game due to size, but doesnt create well, defense is meh, and cant shoot. Woohoo

Can’t shoot? What? He has one of the more efficient mid range jumpers in the NBA. So what if he doesn’t shoot threes? He knows his limitations and is a champion. He also has the size to play next to Dame and CJ. He would be an amazing addition for the minimum. Contenders will be lining up for him.

For his career, he's fairly comparable to turner mid range, 10 feet to 3. Dont see the excitement.

I agree...I'd much rather the Blazers add Livingston than Jeremy Lin or any of the other available PG's

Its funny how overrated Livingston has been just because he plays for the Warriors. -2.8 RPM, 78th out of 99 PGs last year. Doesnt do antything particularly well.

Portland Trail Blazers: Shaun Livingston worth a look

Shaun Livingston could be an interesting pickup to help handle backup point guard duties for the Portland Trail Blazers after being waived by the Warriors.
In an effort to clear room for the newly added D’Angelo Russell and avoid dipping too far into the luxury tax, the Golden State Warriors have waived Shaun Livingston. With the Portland Trail Blazers still looking for a backup point guard capable of playing major minutes, Livingston could be an interesting option.

Livingston was under contract for $7.7 million next year with only $2 million guaranteed, so waiving him saves a considerable amount of money for Golden State.

You're not signing him to play him, you're signing him to add valuable experience to the locker room.

One thing he does particularly well is shoot over smaller point guards. He has averaged 52.7% over the last 5 seasons on 2-point shots.
Shabazz Napier in his 5 seasons has averaged 43% on 2-pointers, and Evan Turner has averaged 48% on 2-point shots in his last 5 seasons.
He might not do anything else well, but if you are the opponent you don’t want to see the ball in his hands at the end of the game for a short/mid range jumper.

I dont think his experience is all that valuable. We have a good locker room and a well-led team. Not sure what his experience would provide.

Who is our best 3pt shooter right now?

    CJ?

We just lost two 40% 3pt shooters in Seth and Meyers. We really need a knockdown guy on the roster for spot minutes. Ryan Anderson is still available btw. Ideally this guy would be a PG, but none of the guys available can really shoot. He got thrown around all over last year, but before that he's been consistently in the high 30s, low 40s on high 3pt volume. If we can't land a Gallo, I hope he consider Anderson as well. He's still only 31 yrs old. I like him better than a Korver.

That's your opinion. We have seen time and again how important championship experience is.
