The problem I see is that if Nurkic does not come back until February then maybe the deadline is over and we can not see if he's the old one and with Whiteside we're wasting a 27 million contract that we could use as asset at the Deadline, we basicly go in the Playoffs with two similar Centers

Orion Bailey and Paine Tablet like this.

This is what I've been saying all along!

My comments were to certain people guaranteeing he'd be back in December.

Most athletes need time after coming back to both get into game shape and trust your body not to snap again. So if Nurk is not back playing by February he's extremely unlikely to be able to be the old Nurk this season anyway.

In your scenario Whiteside would be fitting in well enough to not trade so I think we'd just play Nurk in the role Kanter had prior to Nurk getting hurt. That might be better for him while he works his way back anyway.

Who cares? He could be back then as it isn't really all that unrealistic.

Thats the most likely scenario, i just think we would waste a huge asset if we dont trade whiteside at the Deadline. I was thinking something like: Whiteside + 2nd round pick for Otto Porter or something. My problem is, i dont feel comfortable if we go into the Playoffs with the roster right now, every player who is bigger than 6.8 would destroy us, not to mention the players like Kawhi, Paul George, Lebron. We can go into the Regular Season with that roster thats no problem, but come Playoff time is critical
