How do the Portland Trail Blazers’ duo Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum rank compared to the rest of the NBA?

For essentially this entire decade, it seems that the NBA has been predicated on super teams. Teams such as the Heatles, to the Hampton’s Five Warriors, and LeBron’s second iteration of the Cavs have all gained fame for their construction leading to championships.

But for every successful super team, there has been one (or more) that have failed. Just look at teams such as the 2012-13 Lakers, and the 2013-14 Nets are just a few examples of why stacking teams with stars is not a sure thing.

The Portland Trail Blazers have long been known for having one of the NBA’s top duos, with a star studded backcourt of Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum. These two have consistently been in the discussion for the NBA’s best guard duo.

This offseason, we have seen the NBA transition into a seemingly more balanced and well-rounded league. The reason? Superteams, as of know, are gone, replaced by high profile duos and solid surrounding depth. With so many players changing teams and creation new tandems, it might be a good time to re-visit the best star power in the league.

With all of the movement that occurred in the past week, where do Dame and CJ stand in those duo rankings now?.......

@ABM I took the post you made in an old thread and moved to it's own brand new thread.

why not merge this one with the one you started? This forum is being inundated with multiple posts of the same subject and then idiots pulling threads that are 2-5 years old and even more. I'm sure that has a lot to do with people leaving the forum or posting much less.

Really? So an article from 2 years ago about Dame and CJ should be merged with a new one from yesterday? Maybe just merge all Dame threads into a giant thread.

Would that be a thread? Seems more like a rope or cable.

Yeah really as the titles and subject are almost identical. Either that or lock any thread over a year old so it can't be bumped. It's getting worse than homeless camps in Portland

Exactly. Merging threads is asinine unless multiple people start the same thread

Wait, but... Now im gonna go bump a thread where you and several others argued with me and calling me names because I said homeless folk run rampant on the east side....

You really want to know whats running people outa here? People who cant admit things and make double standard statements on a regular basis and argue vehemently in the face of opposing facts.

Sooo many head strong, never wrong, people in here its ridiculous.

I see you caught my tongue in cheek response regarding the homeless. If you remember correctly, I never said there wasn't homeless people in Portland. What I said is it isn't as severe as how you were trying to portray it. I believe you used the words if not exact then very similar to that homeless camps are on every corner. :bgrin:

That's not what I said. I said the idiots are the ones bumping threads 2-5 years old that have been dormant and no where did I insinuate people are idiots for ANYTHING and EVERYTHING they do. Big difference. I have no idea what your intent was with your response, but I would at least appreciate you portray what I say correctly and not sensationalize it or mischaracterize what I say

Idiots pulling threads are 2-5 year old or even more is what you said... quoted above.

I said so because someone bumps a thread(all bumps are of old threads or its not really a bump), but I will clarify... you are saying anyone that bumps an old, 2-5 year old thread is an idiot? Cause that IS what you said. No misscharacterizing here.

Then you deny what you said and state you said what I quoted????

I never said you said people are idiots for anything and everything. Why or how did you get that? I said people who bump posts are idiots. How do you get anything and everything???

    Why cant you just say....

"You know, Maybe I shouldn't have called anyone an idiot. Maybe I find them annoying, but I don't know if they are idiots or not."

All good though @CupWizier No worries. not looking to argue, just didnt think calling people who bump old threads idiots was warranted.

Jalen Rose says Damian Lillard, CJ McCollum are the most underrated NBA duo

LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. Russell Westbrook and James Harden. Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving.

This offseason, the NBA has officially become a league of duos — two superstars joining forces on one team in the hopes of winning a championship. With the dynastic Golden State Warriors falling to the Toronto Raptors in the 2019 Finals and losing several key players to injury or free agency since, it feels like this upcoming season is anyone's game.

Through all the max contracts and requested trades, however, ESPN analyst Jalen Rose says there's one static pair that isn't getting the attention they deserve: the Portland Trail Blazers' Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum.

"The problem is, they got to the playoffs the past few years and they got swept," Rose told AOL.com of the Blazers, courtesy of Dick's Sporting Goods. "What ends up happening is we dismiss what they do in the regular season and say, 'Show us in the playoffs.' Then this year, they made it to the Western Conference Finals."

Portland finished as the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference in both of the past two seasons, jumping up from No. 8 in 2016-17. Lillard also had one of the most memorable shots of this year's playoffs that sent his Blazers to the Western Conference Semifinals.

Rose has previously stated that he believes the Los Angeles Clippers' shiny new duo consisting of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George is the best in the league, which should make for several interesting battles out west.

"People know about Philly, people obviously know about the Splash Brothers and the duos in L.A.," Rose said, "so I would think that [Lillard and McCollum] are the underrated duo."

They’re top five for sure. Kawhi/George when Steph/allay are the only two I’d put above of them.
