I read that quote, and just think of Stockton, Malone, and Payton. That's decent enough company.

Edit: And I completly forgot Payton sold out and scored a ring with Miami in 06.

I brought it up earlier, but do you think Clyde sold out with the Blazers?

Dames already a better Blazer than Walton.

Do you consider Rasheed Wallace one of the best Pistons of all time?

Hows being back in nyc? You miss us back over here in small town oregon? Lol

Also. While you were here, did you visit many places outside Portland? Niagra falls, the gorge, the coast?
One of my favorite drives is following 224(?) out along the clackamas river towards the mountains.

    If not, you should have.
I used to love to take drives in ny when i lived there. Every weekend id find a new road heading upstate, go get lost in the country and make my way back.

Pistons have titles with teams that didn't have wallace on it.
Walton provided portland their only ring to date. Not that i don't disagree with your premise, but i think it comes with an asterisk.

In 50 years will we consider Kawhi the best Raptor of all time?

    Hell no.

Maybe he had one of the best seasons off all time.

Same with Walton. He had a better season than Dame. Dame and Drexler Blazers careers dwarf the accomplishments of Walton.

Thier respective seasons gave their franchises their only ring though. The ultimate goal is it not?

I do not believe it's title or bust.

It's more impressive that Durant carried OKC to the accomplisments they did then winning two rings with the warriors.

What if the jail Blazers won the title in 2000 would Rasheed be a better Blazer than Dame? No fucking way.

I see it as Walton was the most talented Blazer ever, who had the best Blazer season ever. Drexler has the best career as a Blazer, but doesnt rep Portland or the Blazers at all or he’d be the best Blazer of all time. Dame is a top five Blazer talent of all time, who already has the 2nd best Blazer career of all time, and reps Portland in great ways. So to me you could pick any of those 3 and Id be ok with it (personal preferences and all that). Right now Id have Walton at one and Dame at 2, but I expect Dame to be #1 before too long.

Damon should totally force his way to the Lakers, so he'll be remembered as a title winner.

That way, he won't be forgotten like Carlton Malone, Karl Barkley, Jim Stockton, Peter Ewing, Donald Wilkins, Terry McGrady, Pat Maravich, and Sean Kemp.

Thank GOD that Gary Payton won a title with Miami, and was an integral part to their team winning, otherwise no one would remember him.

Dame is not a better Blazer than Walton. Not yet. He's great. No Blazer has ever been as good as Walton from 76-78. Dame hasn't come close yet. Walton was the best player in the world over that stretch.

I hope Dame tops that stretch as a Blazer and retires as a Blazer. It couldn't happen to a better guy.

I can't think of a player I'd rather be our leader in today's NBA than Lillard.

I don't consider Sheed the best anything. He's not even in the conversation.

I recently watched the 1977 finals and I think DR. J was better than Walton, but the Blazers were a better team and had players in positions that could take advantage of the 76ers. Im not trying to put down Walton but the Blazers had no idea how to stop Dr. J, that dude was unbelievable.

I don't think Clyde sold out because the team decided to go young and rebuild in his last productive years. At least that's how I heard it.

He wanted to win and the front office decided it was time to make a change (a lot of changes). Got rid of Adelman and Petrie...

The team wasn't committed to continuing what Drexler and the guys had built so it wasn't the same team anymore.

It hurt his status as a Blazer, but I don't consider it a sellout.

I would argue that Bill Walton was the far superior player.

A player averages 30pts, 7rebs, 5 assists in a series all the time. Seems like every series has a guy who does that. How often do players have 19pts, 19rebs, 5 assists, and nearly 4 blocks over a series? Not very often.

And Dr J's defense was HORRIBLE. So lazy.

In interviews Dr Jack even called him a lazy defender, and he set our offense up to take advantage Dr J's lazy defensive tendencies.
