No. It might be 2019 and we're all suppose to be holding hands around a campfire singing Kumbaya by now. I am a very open person but, in this instance, no. There are roles that are male or are female roles only that should never be crossed. Maybe in a comedy I could see it, but radically changing a character for the sake of political correctness or whatever the hell, just doesn't fly with me and it never will. Especially a character that I grew up watching all of my life.
Wow, just read an article about this. Plot to the movie: James Bond (Daniel Craig) retires. Female agent is given his 007, aka the license to kill. She gets captured. James Bond comes out of retirement to save her. End movie. ...... So much pearl clutching over nothing. Can't wait to read more from some of you on how this is an attack on the white man.
I think that's worse, it's another the woman needs to be saved by a male movie. Not that I was trying to say that it was an attack on white males...? Also, spoilers sheeeesh.
Pretty much what I figured. I doubt Bond comes out of retirement to save her. I figure he gets married, then wife gets killed and comes back like in OHMSS. Comes back, new black bond as 007 and there is some conflict. The whole thing that he's amazed by her rebuffs sounds totally lame. I figure she dies heroically somehow to save the day, and Bond comes back as 007 again.
I mean Leiter is black, moneypenny is black.... can't they find a different demographic to suck up to?
I think it's cool.....I'll see it for sure...just hope she has more of a sense of humor than Daniel Craig....I like a Bond that makes you laugh
Honestly you know what would dumber than casting a female bond? Casting a Female, writing it so she is incapable, and then sending in a male to rescue her. Might as well put her in a wheel chair while you are at it. Jane Bond - Rolling into wheel chair accessible theaters near you! Yes I’m joking; don’t hate the player, hate the game.
