Well perhaps you can fill in the gap. What is she getting at when she says, "Someone that looks like me"? Damned if I can intuit what she "looks" like? Or what she expects one to detect?

When someone says that Trump “doesn’t like someone who looks like me”, she likely means that Trump just doesn’t like someone like her. If I say that “it’s a bad look” to defend Trump and his cronies raping teen girls, what I mean is it doesn’t make you look good. Not that I expect you to understand that either, but I figure that would hit home perhaps. And when I say hit home, it doesn’t mean I am going to “hit your home”. Like with a fist. It means resonates with you.

More than ample evidence exists through POTUS Trump's words and actions to disprove the absurd notion that he has anything against gay women, purple hair, or outspokenness. Due to his policies, women's unemployment is at record lows while women's wages are at record highs. His administration has called social media heads out and started investigations into their censoring of views. If you ever watched his reality show, or seen HIM, you know hairstyles/colors aren't a problem for him either.

It's quite obvious that her blatant disrespect for and numerous slanders of America and the majority of American citizens is what ticks off the majority of Americans, understandably.

For his part, Trump has been gracious and welcoming to the team. I believe she would like to think she's some huge thorn in his side, but she's already had her 15 minutes of fame/infamy and it did not go well. I doubt POTUS Trump even knows her name.

Really? So winning the world cup is considered infamy and did not go well?

Evidence and facts aren’t a road you want to go down when talking about Trump and who he knows/likes/doesn’t like. If so, please let me know. Do NOT mention respect and America and Trump. He is the most anti American President we have ever had.

As your post proves, her fame/infamy comes from her potty-mouthed insults to Americans and America, not from her play on the field.

Nobody but sports-fetishists knew her name before she started talking shit about the country that pays her to play a game rather than work for a living.

The fact that the (supposed) US team won means very little to most Americans when the self-absorbed players hate their country and claim the win for themselves while walking on the flag, mocking their opponents and generally embarrassing America on the world stage.

95% of Americans can only name one professional soccer player, and Pele' hasn't played the game since 1977.

You are under some misconception that wanting America to be tolerant and open to all types is anti American. That’s what Trump has done to you. This woman wants America to be BETTER because she loves her country. If you could take off your Trump colored glasses for a minute you’d understand.

All of women's achievements are in spite of Trump and not because of Trump. One has only to look at what he pays women who work in his casinos which is sometimes nothing and other times unwanted sexual advances.
I've got a feeling he'd only pay an unwanted sexual advance against Rapinoe once and then he'd get his nose broken and wind up calling her a lesbian or very ugly for opposing his advances.

Look, you could prove that Trump has given top secret U.S. military information to the Russians on many occasions and you're not going to budge the stubborn Trump base. They will follow him to hell.

She won the Golden Boot award for the most goals in the 2019 Women's World Cup and the Golden Ball award as the best player in the tournament and you say her fame has only to do with what she says? Wow

"In 2005, as a freshman (at the University of Portland), Rapinoe helped the Pilots to an undefeated season and the NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Championship. During the College Cup quarterfinal against Notre Dame, she scored twice and served one assist, helping the Pilots win 3–1 and advance in the College Cup. During the College Cup final against UCLA, she scored one goal and served an assist helping the Pilots win 4–0. She was named NSCAA First Team All-American and was on the Soccer America First Team Freshman All-America. Rapinoe made the NCAA Women's Soccer Championship All Tournament Team and was the West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year. She was also named to the All-West Coast Conference First Team and the All-West Coast Conference Freshman Team. Rapinoe played and started all 25 games as an attacking midfielder, scoring 15 goals and adding 13 assists for 43 points – ranking fifth for freshman point totals in the school's history. That year, she also scored seven game-winning goals."

She missed playing her last year in college because she was busy on the Women's Soccer team helping it to third place.

Learn the facts, then post. Rapinoe plays professional soccer and that is her job and how she makes a living. Same as baseball, basketball, football etc players.

U.S. Soccer says women’s team has been paid more than men’s team
    The Wall Street Journal

The U.S. Soccer Federation released a letter from its president Monday saying that it has paid the women’s national team more than the men’s national team in recent years, a move that comes ahead of mediation in the women’s team’s pay-equity lawsuit against its employer.

The pay analysis--which U.S. Soccer president Carlos Cordeiro said was conducted by U.S. Soccer staff and reviewed by an accounting firm--will add fuel to a complex debate over how the federation has compensated its championship women’s national team.

The federation has faced increasing pressure from the public and Congress over the issue, especially since the U.S. women successfully defended their World Cup title earlier this month.

Corderio said the federation’s analysis showed that U.S. Soccer paid female players $34.1 million in salaries and game bonuses from 2010-2018, while paying the men $26.4 million during the same period. Women’s team members receive salaries plus bonuses and the men receive only bonuses, though larger ones, according to the letter.

The compensation structure for the two teams is different because of their respective collective-bargaining agreements and not because of gender, Cordeiro wrote.

Molly Levinson, a spokeswoman for the players, called the letter “a sad attempt by USSF to quell the overwhelming tide of support the USWNT has received from everyone from fans to sponsors to the United States Congress.”

The federation pays U.S. women’s team members per-game payments for national-team play along with professional-team salaries for playing in the National Women’s Soccer League, as all 23 members of the women’s World Cup team do. The federation doesn’t pay professional salaries for the men.

Levinson said the federation’s numbers “inappropriately include the NWSL salaries of the players to inflate the women’s players compensation. Any apples to apples comparison shows that the men earn far more than the women.”

When World Cup prize payments from FIFIA, the international governing body of soccer, are included, the U.S. men’s players were paid $41 million from 2010 through 2018 and the U.S. women $39.7 million, according to the letter. During that span, the men reached the round of 16 in 2010 and 2014 and failed to qualify for the 2018 tournament. The women won the 2015 World Cup and finished second in 2011.

FIFA’s total prize money for the 2018 men’s World Cup was $400 million. For the 2019 Women’s World Cup, it was $30 million.

Cordeiro wrote that the federation has mostly refrained from commenting on the March 8 lawsuit and pay issues to focus on the World Cup, which kicked off June 7.

“Just as our WNT players have shared their perspective, I strongly believe that you—as U.S. Soccer members, stakeholders, sponsors and partners—deserve to hear ours,” he wrote.

Soon after holding a conference call with reporters about the letter late Monday afternoon, Cordeiro emailed the women’s players and wrote that, “pressure has been building from Congress, the media, and even our longstanding sponsors, not to mention our own Federation members, asking questions,” according to a source familiar with the situation.

The federation’s Monday statement came close on the heels of the euphoria generated by the U.S. women’s team’s July 7 victory over the Netherlands for its second consecutive World Cup title and fourth title overall. The victory spurred chants of “equal pay” at the final in Lyon, France, and again at a ticker-tape parade held for the team in New York a few days later.

U.S. Soccer and its women’s team soon will head into mediation over the lawsuit filed by all 28 members of the U.S. women’s national team player pool. The suit alleges that the federation illegally pays the women less than the men, despite the women’s superior results. The men haven’t won a World Cup.

The federation pays the members of the U.S. women’s team a $100,000 base salary and $67,500-$72,500 annually to play in the NWSL, according to its Monday letter. The U.S. women also can earn bonuses for playing in national-team games.

The federation didn’t release information about the men’s bonus structure.

From 2009-2019, the women’s national team brought in an average of $425,446 per game and the men’s team an average of $972,147 per game, according to the letter.

I heard a guy on the radio talking about this, this morning and it actually kind of sounds like a lot of the facts when it comes to soccer may kind of point to this article having some relevancy. It was on a national radio station too, and he was talking about that the numbers seem to bear out that there really hasn't been any foul play towards women in US Soccer when it comes to money discrepancy between men and women.

Before you jump on me, I'm not saying I know all the facts or anything just reporting what I heard.
