I would too, but if we trade Whiteside and Collins, who's our starting center?

It's too bad all of our young guys are untouchable.

Whiteside/Simons/1st is what they would ask for imo. Would everyone take that over LA for Whiteside/Trent/1st? Not sure I would.

Nurk, cause this trade isn’t happening until the deadline.

They have Jackson and Rose. They'd need a PF replacement for Blake and if they trade Blake they could trade Drummond too so Zach could be valued by them.

I don't think the Blazers have any intention of trading either of their two big expiring contracts for a big long term contract like Griffin or Love. I guess it's fun to talk about but it's just not realistic in terms of finance and tax

Send them two 1st rounders and lets go.

    Zach/*Nurk
    Griffin/Skal/Tolliver
    Hood/Mario
    CJ/Baze
    Dame/Ant

I guarantee we could get a couple of the better remaining FA for min contracts if that was our current roster.

That’s why I think LA is more realistic. Only 1 more full season after this year at 25 mil is better than 3 more at 34+ mil.

Jackson they have been trying to move for some time. Rose is old. A trade of Griffin would mean neither guy is part of their future.

I have a hard time believing Neil will trade Ant or Zach, he knows the struggles of attracting FAs in a small market and that he has to hit in the draft. I also believe he thinks he’s hit in the draft with those two.

Im baffled by this thinking. We are in win now mode. Even if Simons is another Jermaine, I don't think there's any way we can expect him to have a higher ceiling than what Blake was/is now. Annnd eeeeven if he pops like that, it won't be until after Dame's into his decline.

Honestly, if Simons shows a ton of improvement during the season, I wouldn’t be against the idea of CJ for Blake (obviously there would be more to the trade).

You are not taking salary into consideration, which I think is a mistake.

    Griffin is a BAD contract.

The question wouldn't be whether Simons has a higher ceiling than Blake, but whether he has a higher ceiling than CJ.

I don't know if he does or not. But with the hype surrounding him this off-season, it kind of seems like the front office might think he does.

If this team is ever going to win a title, these are the kinds of risks that the team is going to need to have pay off.

Since when have they been trying to move Jackson?

Griffin would be bad business. He’s injury prone and still has three years remaining on his enormous deal. I would much rather wait until January to see if Spurs are in the playoff picture and if the answer is no, then trade for Aldridge.

Griffin is so much better than Aldridge, and hes not aging. Id rather take something thats high risk high reward than low risk low reward.
