I said the thread title was presented as fact. It is. I’m sorry you can’t wrap your head around that and continue to invent minor nuances that are of no consequence.
You do know, it was exactly those same corporations that occupied the WTC whom the fireman went to rescue. NY Stock Exchange, Bank of America, Bank of Korea, Bank of Twain.... It does seem these corporations are the ones behold to the fireman, morally as the beneficiaries of their heroic efforts. I see no good in US tax payers relieving them of the moral financial burden.
Rand Paul also had no problem with the money for Trump's vanity parade. Every Trump golf trip costs taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars that go directly into Trump's pocket. He stays at golf courses and resorts he owns. Generally, hotels charge Secret Service and other members of a president's entourage reduced rates, thinking it patriotic duty, but at Trump property they pay full rates. All the people who have to travel with a president pay full rates for rooms, meals, golf courses, etc. Millions to date, from we taxpayers directly to the Trump family. Rand Paul never asked for offset. Fucking hypocrite.
Of course they can. But the question is why? Thank goodness Rand Paul will ask the right question. I have to wonder why so many Portlanders want to barrow more money for this when it is obvious to me that the Corporations rescued by the City of New York employees should make them whole for injuries incurred during their heroic effort. The efforts of these fireman saved many people working for those cooperation, enabling them to make profits for 18 years now since, while many of the fireman performed their last deed. This is where the money is to do good deeds.
You know, my lady, I would like to suggest you rephrase this comment. It does seem pretty mindless as it stands.
Assume that if a tsunami ever hits Bandon, you would be totally against any sort of disaster aid? barfo
No, he just wants the golf courses to pay for it. They're the big financial institutions of Bandon. And the Bandon cheese factory.
Although Rand may not vote for their compensation, other politicians certainly would. His decision is going to be fatal as 9/11 is sacred and the first responders deserve funding.
I don't think I will count on it. I can not recall Federal disaster funds ever coming to Oregon. Even when the Typhoon hit us with, I think the strongest wind ever to hit the country hit us in 1962, nothing. 170 Mph winds recorded at Mt Hebo. They pay out billions from winds half that on the East and Gulf coast but never to Oregon residents. We were hit in 1995 with another, winds here at my place of 158 mph. Nothing. I can't recall a hurricane anywhere that strong since, but billions were paid out on the Gulf and East coast. Now, least you get the wrong take here, I agree with your comment. We should be prepared on our own, as should everyone else. I see no damn reason at all to help out people that built in a flood plain, or where storm surge will get you. Continuing to maintain a hole in a river is even more stupid. No, I do not think this is the correct use of Federal funds.
Weird take Sly. I did nothing for the Golf course or the Cheese factory. I might buy the cheese someday if it ever gets old enough to have Extra Sharpe Cheese.
You've never bought Bandon cheese?!? Oops, too late now. Bandon cheese is now made in Wisconsin. There is Facerock creamery. https://facerockcreamery.com/
Sorry about the insult. It was deleted along with the rest of the post. So I will post again without the insult. You frequently complain about healthcare owed to you for your service, yet your support for these jackass politicians instead of standing up for others who have also admirably served their country. That seems hypocritical. I believe you have earned quality healthcare and so have all the 9/11 responders.
Trouble is, Obama as a specific part of his plan to give healthcare to others, undue mine and millions of other retirees from their already earned coverage. This was a specific action explained by Zeke Emanuel way before they implemented the plan. We were to be a bone thrown to the insurance companies to entice them to insure people with preconditions. By making it legal to not insure us as per our employment agreement, they could avoid the tax the government would impose if they continued to insure us. Thus a whole new market for the insurance companies. Despicable and deceptive shit. And none of you good people objected! I do not begrudge the Firemen their money, but I sure has hell think it is about to come out of the wrong pockets.
Since you failed to respond, thank you for the civil tongue. And let me ask you directly about Obama forcing retirees to lose their coverage. Do you think it was ok since it was mostly Republicans that were affected? I think the study I saw in Anaheim last year showed the retirees affected were about 26 percent Democrats and over 70% Republicans. Is this why hardly anyone objected except those affected?
I think it sucks you lost coverage. I also think it was wonderful that more people gained healthcare than lost it, regardless of party. Even more important, it was the first step towards moving our populous towards believing healthcare is a right for all Americans. This will be a central issue over the next decade. Step 1 was Obamacare. Step two will be some bridge medicare for all type system. Step 3 will be universal healthcare. Republicans and Democrats alike, not to mention Libertarians, Anarchists and apolitical Americans will all have robust healthcare within the decade. Thanks Obama.
He hasn't lost coverage due to anything but himself as he should have healthcare through the vets as well as medicare. marzy likes to sensationalize and stretch things to fit his needs.
