    Seems a bit misleading as it is mostly short term salary, but I also hope that they make an even bigger dent than last year.

    As much free agent money as was out there, and with as few superstars who actually stayed with their teams, virtually nobody went/stayed in the luxury tax, so that automatically put us near the top. The $5M in dead money is a killer on this.

    Not showing on that tweet is Orlando, who have the league's 6th-highest payroll. They arguably get less out of their payroll that OKC does.

    Two teams in particular: OKC blowing it up and GS getting hard capped and having to dump salary are teams that would've been higher than us had it played out differently.

    I'm guessing Toronto would've been pretty high up there if they kept their free agents too.

    The Spurs just hired Tim Duncan to be an assistant coach. I kind of always assumed Duncan would just do his own thing after basketball and not be interested in the grind of being an NBA coach.

    Very true, didn't take that in consideration. Orlando is just stuffed with bad contracts. I was watching them in the Raptors series and I can't believe Fournier and Gordon get paid as much as they do. It's borderline highway robbery.
