LeMahieu does it all......at the plate and in the field. My kind of ball player. The guy goes out there
and does his job without all the Booha. Class act!

    Game Recap-

1- Voit proves he's inhuman, getting plunked by a 91 mph fastball off of the cheek, without a bruise and only minor bleeding from biting his tonque.

2- LeMahieu wins the MVP award, first player to win the award before the end of season. DJ uses the bat and glove equally. DJ has more RBI's (67) than any year prior; and should easily obtain 200 Hits on the Season. Why is there a Silver Bat but a Golden Glove, why do they have to be different???. Why not a Platinum Bat and Glove, brass, copper???

94 Degrees during the game, with 44,499 in attendance....

3- One hot blazing game in the Bronx. Hottest temp I can recall during an MLB game was in Dallas, (Arlington) a 108/109 night game, and more humid than a Sauna. That record occurred twice in 1988.
I was in attendance on Labor Day of 2007 in Anaheim during a miserable 106 Heat Wave game vs Oakland, the power in LA went out that day.

KC has had some 100+ degree games, with humidity from hell, as well as St. Louis. In old Busch Stadium, when it got over 100 degrees, the artifical turf got so hot; players plastic cleats began to melt.... no shit !!!

4- In Single high A+ Minor League ball here in Lancaster, few day games are played, due to temps being in the triple digits daily from July thru August. Almost all games are played during the nightly cool down. Now that's hot, teams still have to warm up in 100+ degree days.

In 1996, the First year of the Jethwaks moving their franchise to a new stadium in Lancaster, Ca, every SINGLE DAY REACHED 110 degrees or higher, every single day.... 10 games were played during the day that first year. Now few if any are played during the day time.

and then we have this, the early presentation of the AL and now NL MVP Award, to be presented by a Manfred clone at Chucky Cheese in NY/NY tonight at midnight, free shit pizza for all with earplugs...

The first six proved Yankee invincibility. After that, the pitching let up. With that field heat, it's no wonder the comeback came on. Gardner was the guy out of the celebrations but I have say his defensive stab in left field was marvelous to watch.

Broadcasting team decreed Senzatela as dead last in four pitchers categories in the National league. I was surprised Bud Black left him in there that long. The comments on pitch variety astounded me. He only had a fast ball in his arsenal! Have to compliment Black for keeping him in there that long for our order to T off on Senzatela.
