He's such a joke.. Hell, even Darryl Strawberry said Torre never EVER was racist or favorable towards white players.. He's just bitter about not being with NY anymore.. I'm happy that Torre decided not to comment on what Sheff said, that was a good thing to do..

You think he would rather be on a losing team than a winning one?
Yeah, I saw that the other day. Lofton agreed with Sheffield, so again it's not just him. I don't know Torre and neither do y'all, so it would be rather difficult to comment. I don't trust the word of Darryl Strawberry. I mean, you do know who Darryl Strawberry is, right?
Realistically, there is probably some validity to both sides. I'm not saying Torre is racist, but it seems like there was some bad communication between him and the Yankees staff. I doubt Torre hates all black people or anything, but it's possible that he could come off as racist to some and not to others. No biggie.

Daryl Strawberry disagreed. Gary Sheffield is a racist and an ass. Everywhere he goes he thinks he's being treated differently because he is black, this is the same old song and dance. It goes all the way back to his days in Milwaukee when he was making errors on purpose to piss off management. He's a joke and a racist who is only trying to get his name out there to sell his sh*tty book.

It really is sad that I believe Strawberry..
Joe Torre has been in the game for decades...If all of what Sheffield is true, don't you think something would have come out about it a LOT earlier? You don't make it as far as Torre has if you treat black players poorly.

I agree that Sheffield should shut the hell up, though.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Pronk48 @ Jul 18 2007, 11:22 AM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>Joe Torre has been in the game for decades...If all of what Sheffield is true, don't you think something would have come out about it a LOT earlier? It's not like you have to walk up to every black guy you ever meet and say, "NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER" to be considered unfair by TWO black guys.
Justice- Kenny Lofton agree with Sheff because when Lofton played for the Yankees he barely got any playing time, and it wasn't because he was black or anything but when he played for the Yankees everytime he played he did terrible so after awhile he didn't play to much so thats probably why he's talking sh*t about Joe.

My point is not that Kenny and Gary are right, but that they probably actually believe what they are saying.
Gary Sheffield's race card has expired, it only has a maximum of 10 uses per lifetime, and that limit has been reached.
