Maybe. Didn't get much sleep last night after my 75yo MIL took a fall and had to go to the ER. Maybe I'll be less down on Pau tomorrow once well-rested, but I'm not banking on it.
Great deal. We just need him to contribute 5 to 10 minutes for maybe 20 games or so. I think we're loaded for bear now.
PG is not the same type of physical specimen as the other three on that list. I think Bazemore and his 7'0 wingspan will be as adequate as Harkless. Who else on the minimum market could have filled that role? I can think of one guy, RHJ who is the type of non-shooter we're trying to move away from. I think the answer is that Stotts is gonna have to stop being stubborn and actively double team these guys. No one can guard Bron/Kawhi/Giannis 1v1 anyways.
Calabro is going to have a field day with the Pau-wow, Pau-zow, Kung-Pau, etc strange things he can shout options.
A couple things, anytime you can bring in a former Lake....... errrrr...... a vet with championship pedigree it’s a plus. Also, the one thing we’ve had missing since LA left, is a PF who has a back to the basket low post game. Pau is old, but he is still a threat to get a quality shot off down low, or have the skill and court vision to make a nice pass out of it. Shit put him in the high post and he’ll drop dimes to cutters all night long. Call me crazy, but besides acquiring Whiteside, and signing Hood, this is our nicest addition of the summer. He WILL help us win next season! No doubt. And I didn’t even mention the mentoring he will bring to Nurk and Zach! Nice pick up.
In fairness to Green, he absolutely worth 3 wins. Ass Clown McScribbles was responsible for costing him 2 if them
The cost difference is minimal. Portland only pays the difference between a rookie minimum contract vs a 2-year vet minimum contract. The league covers the rest.
