7' center Robert Parish played in the NBA for 21 seasons, retired at age 43, playing 9-17 mpg finally 3 seasons. At age 39 he played 27 mpg.
I know you're not a fan....but I'm guessing Mario gets some minutes in there somewhere. I don't see 6'5", 201 lb Bazemore playing '4' on many nights even with his wingsan. I'm also guessing there are a few nights Collins comes nowhere near his '31' minutes due to foul trouble. Would love it if that weren't the case but it would be a significant departure to how Collins has played both in college and in the Pros.
Yes but Gasol is coming off recent injuries including a foot stress fracture I believe. I’ll need to research exactly what his recent injuries have been.
He had plantar fasciitis in 2013 and missed time. Lately he had ankle trouble and a stress fracture with a broken navicular bone. He had surgery in March for that.
Then give Skal and Gasol two more minutes each. You focused on 4 minutes out of 240 minutes that need to be allocated. On the nights that Skal gets foul trouble, then maybe you give Mario or Tolliver a chance. Or you give Skal more minutes.

He's an above average 3pt shooter at high volume that teams are afraid to leave open. And a smart player who has helped teams win when played along the right personnel. I'm all for giving Skal a chance, but Tolliver feels like a guy that'll thrive in Dame+Whiteside lineups. Double drags in transition as that pop man...he'd also be great as the flare screener in our thumb series. Think he brings a skill set that no one else on the team really replicates at the PF position.
As I said, above average 3pt shooter, not good at amything else. I think Skal has the potential to be an above average shooter as well, and wiuld be better in other areas of the game. Tolliver isnt a good player, and shouldnt be in the rotation of a contending team. Skal at least has a chance to be good enough to help out a contending team.
Put Tolliver in Labissere's position and put Skal where Gasol is and sit Pau's 39 year old, broken ass on the bench. With Meyer's and Jake gone we need new towel waver's.
Well, his ass is nine months older now than it was in this game against the Lakers last season, but I doubt he’s forgotten the passing, rebounding, shot-making and screening that he shows here. The elbow to Lebron’s neck is a bonus, IMO.
It’ll just come down to whether he’s healthy or not. Last year it looks like he was struggling with his foot from November until he finally got it operated on in May. That’s pretty much the whole season. If he’s healthy, a pretty big if at 39, I’m confident he’ll play a significant role.
Once again, people are trying to dictate minutes based on their perception and not what Stott's will do. I see him doing similar what he did last year and early in the season run lots of rotations and give many players opportunities before he settles on a rotation.
I guess if 'focused' is 25% of the post. There is the much bigger part about Collins and his foul trouble regarding possibly Mario getting minutes.
Yeah, Zach going from 18 minutes a night to 30+ is quite the stretch. A cap of 25 seems more realistic.
