That is nothing to do with what you guys are arguing about but it got me thinking, I think Green has reached 100% of his basketball potential. He will not get any better than the player we see in this year's playoffs. But Nurk I'm betting has only reached 60-70% of his potential.
I agree, and though somewhat different, they can serve similar roles as distributors. No, Nurk is never going to push the pace and dribble down the court like Green does, but after Dame crosses half court they can set Nurk up top of the key and allow him to pass to cutters and slashers and do more offball picks than on ball picks to free guys up. Its why I want us to tradeup and draft Okpola. I think him and Simons with Collins could be a real future for us, and a solid bench immediately.
This is the problem with your logic. Clearly, Green can't win without Curry (based on your own descriptions)...so doesn't that make Curry the most important? Because Green can't win without him. So now, suddenly, both Green AND Curry are "the most important" just by which direction you phrase it (Curry can't win without Green, Green can't win without Curry). Essentially, all you're saying is that the superior player can't win without help. You can go through history and try to make the same distinctions. Jordan was the MVP, Pippen was the MIP since Jordan couldn't win without Pippen. Curry is both the most valuable and the most important player (because that's the same thing) and yet Curry needs help because one player can't win by himself. That's what you're really trying to say--there's no need to create a title for Green that doesn't make sense.
Some players improve their shots as they get older, even if that's not terribly common. Jason Kidd and Magic Johnson are examples of that. If Draymond Green improved his three-point shot, he could become quite a bit better. While I don't think this has much to do with it, it's funny that both those guys (Kidd and Magic) were typified by their great all-around play which is also what typifies Green.
Close but not quite. I didnt say Green couldnt win without Curry, Or I didnt mean that. I mean Green needs a Curry type player. But he can win with a Dame, or a... read below.... Matter of degrees. You missed or dismissed my point about Steph can take any team to the playoffs, but I don't think Green can. But Steph cant win it all without a guy like Green on that team. Steph = playoffs on his own Green = lottery team on his own Steph = not winning it all without Green Green = winning it all with a Steph, or a Dame, or a Kyrie, or a Lowry, or etc..... Not sure why that doesn't make sense. You guys are talking black and white and i'm talking degrees. Im moving on now... have at it.
I wish. I'm of the opinion that if the food was a little more cost-friendly, they would generate even more sales. I know I'd eat at more than just a couple of games each season.
Can't we praise one player without dissing another? You know there are really some super likable guys on this team.
I'll believe he is healthy when I see him back on the court playing like his pre-injury self. I hate that I feel that way about the franchise, but when the head coach claims he didn't know his star player had separated ribs.....how can we be expected to trust them?
Jeez, a nice little thread in the dog days of summer to remind us just how special and full of awe inspiring moments this past season was and it almost immediately degenerates into the patented Ripcity 2 pissing match we’re all so familiar with. Different day, same old shit......
