This contract just further illustrates just how incredibly cheap they were able to re-sign Jusuf for.
Mediocre big centers can’t be on the floor at all times. I would love to have seen how the Warriors “death lineup” would have worked against Hakeem.
Draymond is pretty good at not buying pump fakes so he may have been able to hold his own...at times...against Hakeem. Where Draymond would have been overwhelmed is if he tried to guard Shaq or Artis Gilmore....goodnight
I saw Hakeem from when he was at UofHouston with Clyde and a Rocket. I saw the Blazers win the title and I was at Mac Court in Eugene when Portland played an exibition game that year and had Moses Malone backing up Walton. Yeah, I saw him play Hakeem had incredible footwork, pump-fakes-galore, a gagillion drop steps and spin moves...all to go along with his good mid-range shooting. He 'overpowered' opponents with his finesse game and quickness. Those are all things Green has shown he can defend to some degree of success; he has quick hands and feet himself. For certain Hakeem would get the best of Green but I don't believe it would all be one-sided because Hakeem wasn't physical like Shaq or Artis Gilmore or Bob Lanier
Careful! Now you’re showing your age......too many kids on this forum who never heard of Lanier and Gilmore. But then, that’s their loss. Though old bastards like me appreciate the reminder. Those two guys rocked and were a blast to watch.
You sir have never been so wrong in all your life. With your big words and fancy terms. The Dream would baptize The Donkey over and over again! I wish I could take back all my LIKES I've sent your way!
(Spicy post alert) I wouldn't do it if I were him. Seems like he's very much aware of the ungrateful fanbase and media in Portland. He should've gone to a place were he's appreciated instead of being in trade talks for the rest of his career.
Players careers can end so quickly, he's got a life and friends here at this point, and they're offering him a bunch more years of guaranteed money.
You're confusing a vocal minority with a majority of the fan base. Most fans love CJ. Their isn't really a strong local media either so I doubt that really matters. Besides it's not like fans discussing trades don't happen in every city. Heck last year on this site their were posters that wanted to trade Dame.
For about 24 hours after the Pelicans series, I wanted the whole team dispersed into the nethers of the NBA lol. Ah that was a fun time...
Majority of the fans here constantly complain about him in every game thread and there are endless 'trade CJ' threads. People here wanted him gone for 1 year of Paul George, 6 months of Butler, Wiggins, Middleton, even fucking Robert Covington or saric or a lottery pick this year. When it's "trade this guy for a superstar" - ok i get it, when it's "trade this guy for anything and anyone" - it's ungratefulness. People here complain about a 2nd stringer on a winning team getting the max like it's anything new... They dont like CJ in Portland if this forum is ANY indication of general consensus.
Have you read this thread? I think for the most part it's pretty positive towards the extension. You thinking that a few vocal posters on an internet forum means that most fans hate CJ is a bit crazy to me.
