I wonder if he regrets rejecting us TWICE.

That's the problem. He's not gonna accept coming off the bench for 12 minutes per game. No one in their right mind would take Tolliver over Melo as a basketball player in a vaccuum, but even in this interview, he said how coming off the bench was such a ego hit. But he was still playing 29 mpg in his ten games at Houston. I can't imagine how he would react to getting a third of those minutes while backing up Zach/Mario.

I honestly wish we would sign him. I think he’s been humbled...and I think we still need a little more firepower even if it’s just in small stretches

We loaded up on poor defensive players.

    Our offense will be awesome.

I wouldn't want Melo even if he accepted 12mpg role. I doubt he would be happy with that though.

Poor defensive players? Whiteside? Hood? They still have Nurk. Collins is a good defender.
Not disagreeing with you at all about Melo though. 10-12 mins at most.

Yes, let him come here and win a championship so that we can nostalgically bump this thread with highlights of him in the finals every few years

Tolliver, Gasol, Hezonja are all poor defenders. Whiteside rates poorly in many defensive metrics but he does have potential to be a big benefit, we will see.

Hood Collins Nurk were already on the team. Nurk may provide zero benefit or even be a negative this year. Collins is already hurt. Hood is better on offense than D. Simon's will likely struggle greatly on that side.

Aminu and Harkless are being greatly overlooked for their critical defensive contributions. I agree they weren't a good starting forward playoff duo; but we may have a massive hole in that role.

I heard he's the sole subject of the longest thread from the Portland Trailblazers official message board, so I guess somewhat famous ?
