The shooter says in his manifesto, basically, that he would not target people of color that are American. He is personifying a nationalist. HOWEVER, I'm calling bullshit. How on earth, in a situation like that, could he differentiate between American born brown people and immigrant brown people? And what about potential white immigrants in the mall? He wanted to kill brown people.

They don't need them. Those are made for military personnel not civillians.

This is simply and factually untrue.

You are more likely to become a mass murderer than someone with Asperger Syndrome. The rare acts of violence they may commit will be on themselves.

I have an adult family member with High Functioning Autism Spectrum Disorder with Asperger Syndrome. I also have a client with a teenage son who has Asperger Syndrome.

    FWIW, here's wiki's opinion:

    Violent or criminal behavior
The hypothesis that individuals with AS are predisposed to violent or criminal behavior has been investigated, but is not supported by data.[10][44] More evidence suggests that children diagnosed with Asperger syndrome are victims rather than offenders.[45]

A 2008 review found that an overwhelming number of reported violent criminals with Asperger syndrome had also other coexisting psychotic psychiatric disorders such as schizoaffective disorder.[46]

Most murderers, mass or otherwise, are just self-absorbed assholes who blame somebody/everybody else for their miserable lives as losers. No mental illness at all, just really bad people. Not all people are born nice. Some are just evil to the core.

They cling to politics or religion, or revenge for mistreatment by "society" as excuses for their heinous crimes. But the fact is they are just really bad, evil people who want to kill people.

    Hilarious.

I have a friend who left her family behind and immigrated from Singapore, just to be free to speak her mind. About as much Freedom as Germany afforded Jews during the 30's.

I prefer our Constitution and I'll take my chances with the occasional mass murder at Walmart, the runaway bus, lightning strikes, erupting volcanoes, bees, snakes, cougars, posters with TDS...all the risks that come with personal Freedom.

    Yes. It's not even close.

Drug Cartels, enabled by politicians, are at the core of most murders of 4 or more people.

Lots of problems in society is due to our supposed freedoms. From drugs, to homelessness to mass shootings. What little you give up in personal freedom and expression, you'll gain in a better society.

    This is exactly the time.

It's another wave of Deep State lies and mind control coming and we've got the usual TDS trolls serving as their minions. Every bit of nonsense about disarming citizens and blaming the POTUS for bad people who were bad long before he was elected is intentionally preventing any progress toward reducing murder, which thankfully has declined drastically (60%ish) since I was young and actually rarely heard abut it. It did spike badly during Obama's last 2 years in office but declined again after that.

Sadly, no such decline in suicide has happened and in fact over 30,000 of these "gun violence" figures Beto and Dems are spouting again today were suicides. Unfortunately my son's closest friend was one of them. After decades of finding no help wherever he turned, the pain was too much. I blame the government, all of it. 47,173 Americans committed suicide in 2017. Tenth on the cause of death list.

    A few responses:

Chris Craig - All recent mass murderers share common threads which are irrational hatred and blind acceptance of mass media misinformation. Something you display in every political thread. If I had to pick the most likely poster here to kill a mass of strangers just from what they post, it would definitely be you. You seem to think the same of me. We have met in person and I'll bet we both have a milder opinion of each other as face to face human beings. Let's have a beer sometime.

Julius - I enjoy your thoughtful posts and your restraint in not trolling people who troll you. There are 4 or 5 posters (including a mod or two) here who weakly troll every single thread I post and yes, I troll them and only them back occasionally. I'm not Christian and rarely turn the other cheek. I'm an American and I stand my ground and speak my piece. Obama had his FBI lower the mass murder definition to 4, and that is why I use that number, because they have the only credible data on crime in America. Dozens upon dozens of people are murdered every single day in about a dozen American cities, year after year, and you are correct that we don't talk about them, nor do we know who any of them are at all (except for HCP, he knows a few). Why isn't the media blasting every outlet and website with the names of the 20-some people murdered in Chicago yesterday? The 40 people murdered there last weekend? Where are the victims pictures, their stories, the demands for justice? I'll tell you why. Racism of the media, racism of politicians, racism of the Deep State that owns them, and the fact that these murders are almost always committed with stolen or illegally sold weapons in cities with the most stringent anti-Second Amendment gun control laws. Completely destroys the gun control argument, actually supports the need for freedom to carry for self defense. Maybe after Real Estate eases up a bit in the fall I'll start a thread with daily highlights of each day's victims of the drug cartels. A mighty but worthy undertaking. Okay, I've already talked myself into it.

El Presidente - Keep on keepin' on. We agree about 50% of the time and that's perfect for debate.

HCP - Every time we have a thread about murder you tell me not to post because a friend/relative/co-worker of yours was just murdered. Shutting down debate about the actual facts, reasons, causes, hidden agendas and solutions only assures you will grieve more often. I am pretty mindful to edit and fact-check my posts before posting so I don't know where you see hate in them. Maybe that's what you feel for everyone who disagrees with you?

When you come into a thread about a mass shooting and start blaming black and brown people, throw out some fictional deep state conspiracies, and include a few personal insults of course people are going to question what is the purpose behind your posts.

Nonsense. The problems you name were directly and deliberately created by the Deep State. Society never gains, only loses, from infringements on Freedom. America was founded by brave people who would not toe the line of the Deep State, and it has survived a long time defending that basic principle. It's really sad how easily young, uneducated people are deceived to think Freedom is evil and The Borg is good.

Here’s the obvious and grotesque response from republicans to Betos’ remarks here. I’d rather just get in front of it: “beto devised this attack in El Paso as a false flag to frame him as a hero of his home town”

    When in reality.....

So I’m seeing this on Twitter as something the shooter posted. I have no proof that’s correct. Where did you see this?

Yes, but I always feel sort of exposed there. I don't suppose it will be any better now.

Just the opposite. I stated cold, hard facts.

Double speak is deliberately using inappropriate/inaccurate words to confuse the listener and misdirect the issue, as in calling a MURDER (a heinous crime) a SHOOTING (a completely legal and safe firing of a firearm, a Constitutionally Guaranteed right for all American citizens) in order to slander the majority of law-abiding Americans and further an attack on America by disarming the masses.

Another form of double speak/deception is the term mass murder, as if it is somehow worse than the same amount of people murdered individually by multiple murderers.

Murder is murder, but the fact is the vast majority of murders are singular, with one victim. That is the scourge we should be addressing, as that would save the most lives. Was the cowardly murderer at Vegas any worse of a person than some banger who killed another banger over some crack? No. They are equally evil, although the former is a rarity beyond measurement while the latter happens daily, even hourly and accounts for thousands of deaths. Those are large numbers.

My heart goes out to the families of the fallen. Really hate seeing this stuff so often. It’s such a catch 22 though, there’s no right answer to fixing this.

All we can do is raise more mental health awareness, increase security on large gathering areas, more expansive background checks, I’m definitely not in the party of banning weapons as I will not part with my overall right as an American. However, I do think there needs to be better ways to vet the sales of said weapons.
