Snickers has joined a petition to move Halloween from the 31st of October to the last Saturday of October.

Snickers tweeted that if the federal government changes it, they will offer 1 million free Snickers bars to America.

Though, Halloween is not a federal holiday and therefore the government cannot change it.

The petition was started on the basis that Halloween would always be on a Saturday and therfore not on a school day, making it easier for Tricker Treaters and for festivities to take place without rush.

If it were possible would you be ok with changing the date of Halloween?

Well, Brexit officially happens on October 31st here. So yes, we should move Halloween to some other date so it doesn't conflict with all the rioting and bloodletting.

I would think such activities would fit seamlessly with Halloween. :dunno:

This actually bothers me, people celebrate many holidays for many different reasons, and the fact theyve all been turned into a way for companies to make money kind of sucks.

I held this belief well before i ever worked retail.

Then i worked retail and it affirmed it all. It's sickening.

Actually, if it falls on a weekday it probably governs the amount trick or treaters and how late they stay out, like has for decades.
Id rather have kids out on a school night, trick or treating than a busier weekend.
In the Midwest it's a huge huge Holiday and for adults that want to party they already have them on weekends or the 31st.

Then do it for valentines, then st. patricks day, then easter, then graduation, then memorial day, then independence day, than back to school. Round and round the retailers go.
Worked at Target doing logistics / warehouse stuff from age 21-26. I knew that schedule so well.

Fuck Great Britain, the failed empire which was built on the backs of the millions of slaves they sold to The Americas.

We agree....whew...been a while. The media is still fascinated with the Royal Family here in the States...I never understood that given our history and their shrunken status as a global power

I say do them all on one day of the year. We all slip into a sugar coma and, if we survive, can live healthy the rest of the year.

They need to change the Superbowl to a Saturday, or make the Monday after a federal holiday first. That is the real holiday issue to be concerned with! Haha
