This is horseshit. These quotes are a lame attempt for those in the closet racists and those trump supporters who want to maintain their Republican status and their white friends and be able to say “see! He’s not racist!” If you “sometimes” are racist and sometimes are not, you are 100% racist. If you sometimes bang other women and sometimes don’t, you cheat on your wife. If you sometimes rob banks but sometimes say that’s a horrible thing to do, you are a bank robbing felon. Trump, plain and simple, is playing a game that both appeals to the massive amount of white racists and throws an olive branch out occasionally for those who need to feel good about supporting him. You can make these statements all you want, it doesn’t make up for the things you do that do divide the country. And how many of these statements came after he was asked to do it? All of them I bet. He’s a trash human.

They should put mandatory minimums for illegal gun possession. Like 5 years automatically in prison if you have a gun you aren't supposed to have.

More so for the use of a gun in a crime. (25 years automatically)

IMO, that will take a lot of the guns off the streets (have a buyback grace period no questions asked).

I'm pretty sure that is the penalty if you are a felon in possession of a gun in Oregon.

And for the record @MARIS61 and @MarAzul are completely against this.

That is all lines fed to him by advisors. He was told to say all that, mostly during the election. Yet, he keeps using the same racist and violent rhetoric at his rallys and in his tweets. The far right is still part of his base. He needs them and once again after he has delivered a line or two about how he is against racists fed to him through a teleprompter he will send out more of his hateful tweets and spew all the racist bullshit he does, like that which led to the El Paso shooting.

This would be for anyone in possession of a gun that is not registered to them.

No plea deals. No nothing. Mandatory jail sentence. Make it long too.

So they are ok with people carrying guns around illegally and shooting people because that is what that amounts to

I believe their position is there should be no limitations to having a gun.

I don't think they're okay with people shooting people.

I think 5 years is fine for just simply possessing a gun that isn't registered to you. This could include "borrowing" a gun from a friend to shoot in the desert or something. The thing is, with laws like this, some people will inevitably get caught in strange situations where something is out of their control for one reason or another.

Maybe increase it if its stolen to 10 years.

25 years if used in any crime.

Wouldn't that be seen as racist as soon as announced? I read that nearly half of all murders are committed by Black people, even higher in Cities like Chicago. Wouldn't tacking on 25 years to this segment of the population be seen as discrimination to the max?
    Or just simply targeting Blacks?

I'm not. If you are a felon, or you have a history of domestic violence, you shouldn't have guns. And I know many other gun owners who feel the same way. If you've broken the law so extensively to the point where you either have to go to prison for years, or you've been ordered by a judge to submit to counseling because of a history of domestic violence arrests, then you've lost the trust of our community to be a peaceful, law-abiding person. You've proven that you can't be trusted, and you can't behave like everyone else. There are consequences for that behavior.

No voting, no guns. You've lost those Rights.

Well, in the case of Chicago, every time a prosecutor tries this, they are labeled "racist", and they cave to political pressure. That's why Chicago's courts are one giant revolving door.

There needs to be some common sense with this, which is why "officer's discretion" matters. If the person borrowed the gun with the owner's permission (NOT stolen), and that person has no felonies or domestic violence crimes on their record, then I see no problem with this, as long as they are operating the firearm safely.

If necessary, the officer can contact the owner to verify that pistol is allowed to be in his possession (again: NOT stolen). Or run the gun's number and see if it was reported stolen, and if it is, lock them up. Regardless of what the person on the other end of the phone says.

I just watched a PJW video, and I see little, if anything, to disagree with this:

I don't always agree with PJW's approach to how he explains his stance, but I agree with him here. I personally maintain that social media and the internet is playing a huge part in radicalizing the fringe of our society. This needs to be looked into and investigated.

I agree with the no guns part but not the no voting. If the person has served their time they should be allowed to have a say in who represents them.

Ha! There goes Sly again. Telling folks what I said, but never saw me post.

The right to be armed if you wish, is the right of every American. Notice carefully the use of the word right.
Now if you commit crimes against society, then you give up your rights that the Federal government was formed to protect. The rights you give up are, your freedom and the right to pursue happiness, the right to bear Arms and the right to vote. These rights are lost for the appropriate amount of time as determined by law making bodies of our society.
I like the rule of law and due process. I fully support it.

What about sex offenders? You want rapists and child molesters having a vote on who your politicians are?

    Forgive me....but I don't.
