This is an idea I got from watching Nascar racing over the years and teams often do special edition paint jobs on their cars to commemorate a special event. One of those ideas was having the name of all donors on the car and have had special edition cars with pictures of people on their car. That gave me an idea of taking a head shot picture of every player who played for the Blazers and have it screen printed onto the jersey and then after they have been used auction them off to a charity. The pictures would be pretty small, but up close and as a display in a picture frame there should be room for a lot of pictures. I don't know how many head shot pictures could be put on a jersey and if needs to be narrowed down then that can be addressed of having a minimum amount of games played maybe. If there just isn't enough room for the pictures then maybe the top 50 or just show the signature of each player would be pretty cool. Just an idea and wondering what others thought. It would make for a pretty cool collector piece as well.
Though I think the fad has been over-stated, a uniform with the carpet from PDX would be neat. But, I hope they do a home game with each different uniform they've had (not the minor variations they did to each one though. i.e., the first two uniforms really should be considered one, and the 92 uniforms with the horrible fonts shouldn't count as one). As for a special 50th one? I don't like the idea of having a completely new 50th one, instead of having one for each uniform change (I think they've had what...6? distinct styles, not counting the rip city/tire tracks/black plaid uniforms)
Too bad they couldn’t come up with some sort of design that would (in a reasonably obvious way) celebrate Harry Glickman’s raincoat.......
