    Wow!

I saw Sabas play in Europe several times after he had been selected in the draft by the Blazers. It was also my privilege to watch the man dominate the completion in the 88 Olympics. In my view the man was perhaps the best Basketball player I have ever
watched play the game. And that goes back to the 50s. If you leave Sabas out of the HOF you just don't know shit about Basketball.

At the time of the 88 Olympics, one of my guys was the author of the Olympic scoring system. He always was needed at the Olympic games, so in 88 I went alone as his helper. Not a hell of a lot for me to do so, I watched Sabas play every game.
The Championship game against the USA was quite a show with Sabas at Center for the Ruskies and David Robinson at center for the USA. It was amazing to watch the work Sabas did on Robinson head.

One possession Sabas took a three point shot, missed it but jammed the rebound home with Robinson looking up dumb founded. Soon after on the next possession or close to the next, Šarūnas Marčiulionis got the ball into Sabas on the posts, sort of medium,
not high, not low, where he chucked the ball up on the back board and jammed rebound again with Robinson looking up dumb founded. Down the court, Robinson's gesture to the bench I suppose, :dunno:.

Imagine thinking you are a basketball writer and typing:

Arvydas Sabonis shouldn't be in the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Drazen Petrovic shouldn't be in the Basketball Hall of Fame.

Anyone can be in any "Hall of Fame". It depends upon the induction committee. Look at the bogus Rock n Roll Hall of Fame. They inducted Nat King Cole and the entire genre of rap. How can RnR be associated with rap?

It's true that Lee Westwood has had an amazing European Tour career, but he shouldn't be considered for the golf hall of fame because he's only won twice on the PGA tour and has never won a major.
