Yup. That team better hope they can outlast their opponents.

    What’s the starting five there?

    Walker
    Mitchell
    Middleton
    Tatum
    Turner

Is probably the stronger. Or maybe Fox in place of Walker would be a better fit. A strong 5 but I’m not sure if it would be the best in the league.

They’d be damn good in regular season with that bench though.

It would be a pretty good team and one of those competitive in the west groups.

There’s already a FIBA World Cup thread, and this has already been posted there.

Kind of agree. I wonder if they would be able to beat the very best teams in a seven game series. What i do see is a very very deep team that might win because on any given night or for any injury they would have a replacement. They could be very healthy for the playoffs. But other than that they might not be able to beat a team like the Clippers/Lakers right now? Betting the Blazers would give them a run also.

They have already played the select team twice, and the select team beat them both times, by a greater margin the second time.

Yeah but it's pretty sad that this is the best we could come up with to represent our country.

It's a pretty big, off-season time investment for something that's basically volunteer work. Most of these guys only really have substantial time with their families/friends for 4-5 months a year anyways. The Olympics still has the "cache" of being a big deal and that's more of an ego thing for a lot of the "megastars". So I get why guys aren't really interested in going if you're Harden, James, Curry, etc what do you really gain by going?

I'm glad they got humbled in an exhibition game that's meaningless...will give them something to prove...which over the years team USA hasn't had to do often.

    Fulltime
    Australia 70 - 90 Canada

Kudos Canada! Physical game, refs were letting a lot go, and Canada realised that early. Australia took three quarters to figure that out. Lazy defence by Australia for much of the game. Lots of rotations, and different lineups by the Australian coach, clearly still trying to figure things out.

Three point shooting, and turnovers were the difference.

    3PM/A (%)
    Aus - 6/34 (17%)
    Can - 13/32 (40%)

    TO
    Aus - 15
    Can - 9

Game 2 is on same time tomorrow.

Are you saying Canada's Scrubbs are better than Australia? :devilwink:

Australian coach just caught a ball heading out of bounds off Canada; possession Australia!

Refs didn’t even notice, Nick Nurse was furious!
