Where do these guys come up with this stuff?!! https://fadeawayworld.net/2019/08/17/nba-trade-rumors-top-5-best-destinations-for-demar-derozan-2/ NBA Trade Rumors: Top 5 Best Destinations For DeMar DeRozan DeMar DeRozan has been one of the top shooting guards in the NBA for some time now. Since becoming an All-Star, he has been the focal point of his team’s offense for both the Raptors and the Spurs. The Raptors utilized him in many isolation scenarios where he can take his man one-on-one, normally resulting in a bucket. The Spurs also give him space to operate whenever the offensive play breaks down. DeRozan’s strong mid-range game and excellent slashing abilities makes him an effective player even in today’s spread pick-n-roll preference around the league. DeRozan can still get you buckets, as evidenced by his 21 ppg average on 48% shooting last season. Still, the San Antonio Spurs might look to move DeRozan for two major reasons. First, DeRozan is a max contract player in today’s NBA. It is extremely likely that the Spurs won’t be a legitimate contender this year with DeRozan as their best player (alongside LaMarcus Aldridge). Paying DeRozan to lead this team to the promised land might not be the best move for a franchise that could be looking for a rebuild. Gregg Popovich is on his way out the door into retirement, and the Spurs might want a collection of young players and draft picks to speed up the rebuild process. At the same time, DeMar is a very iso-heavy player that thrives on the ball with everyone out of the way. At the core, this is not the Spurs preferred style of play. As a result, moving him might be the best move the Spurs can do. Here are the five best destinations for the Spurs’ All-Star shooting guard. Portland Trail Blazers Potential Trade Package: Kent Bazemore, Zach Collins, Anfernee Simons, Rodney Hood, and 2 future 1st Round Draft Picks The Trail Blazers will certainly look to add a third star to form a high-scoring Big Three with DeRozan, McCollum, and Lillard. The Blazers would have a very strong starting lineup with high scoring perimeter players and bigs including Whiteside and Nurkic. Portland also wants to be in title recognition with the other top teams in the West. The Spurs will collect two young players in Collins and Simmons, who are perfect for a rebuild. At the same time, Bazemore’s contract is expiring and will help clear the books for the Spurs. Two more draft picks will sweeten the deal for a potential blockbuster trade for the Blazers.
I’m not even sure I would prefer him for the current team over Hood, let alone give up Collins, Simons and two future firsts. If we could get both him and Aldridge for expirings (e.g. Bazemore and Whiteside) and one or two future first rounders I would do that though. There are situations in which we could use him, I guess. Just don’t give up any of our young talents for him. And if Bazemore and Whiteside do well here, don’t even offer them and just ignore.
derozen is a good player, but the fact he's a max player and not really max tier means he's beyond expensive and really falls into only making sense being traded for another max player. giving up bazemore, hood, collins, simons and 2x 1sts is utterly roster gutting and obviously a huge end negative. it's like they just pick people from a team in the trade machine and if it works, publish a story as a potential option. idiotic tbh.
click bait rumor....gutting the roster for one guy and giving up 2 1st rounds picks? Somebody is a Spurs fan....
most of those articles are written by morons for morons. maybe dame cj And nurk for derozan??? and two picks of course
Most of the guys who write these things secretly want to be GMs. Posts like this show why they never will be.
I see better trades on fan Reddit pages. Thats highway robbery and if the author doesn't think so they should be committed for a psych evaluation.
Ok thats a bad trade but it seems we might be going a tad far overrating our players, wouldn't trade hood, simons or zach straight up....
Apparently the person who came up with this trade didn't get the memo that Portland FO was uninterested in throwing Simons in as a filler this off-season. He wasn't untouchable, but he wasn't someone Portland was going to give away for nothing. But lets look at this. Apparently DeRozan is worth 4 first round draft picks. One of which is a top 10 pick along with two quality role players in the NBA? Amazing value DeRozan has. Can only imagine what this guy thinks Melo is worth.
