Todd Starnes: Fencer Race Imboden owes America an apology, should be replaced on Team USA

By Todd Starnes | Fox News

US fencer takes knee at Pan Am Games in protest
Taking a knee at the Pan Am Games could cost this US fencer.

Olympic fencing medalist Race Imboden pitched a childish tantrum and took a knee during the national anthem Team USA's medal ceremony at the Pan American Games in Peru last Friday.

Imboden was apparently triggered by the rocket's red glare and suffered a massive outbreak of microaggressions. He later addressed his behavior on Twitter, from the confines of his designated safe space.

"We must call for change," he declared.

Mr. Imboden said he was honored to represent America at the Pan Am games -- but faster than Colin Kaepernick could say "Betsy Ross," the young fencer turned on his native country.

"My pride however has been cut short by the multiple shortcomings of the country I hold so dear to my heart," he wrote. "Racism, Gun Control, mistreatment of immigrants, and a president who spreads hate are at the top of a long list."

A spokesman for the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee denounced the athlete's political spectacle.

"Every athlete competing at the 2019 Pan American Games commits to terms of eligibility, including to refrain from demonstrations that are political in nature,"
spokesman Mark Jones told Associated Press. "In this case, Race didn’t adhere to the commitment he made to the organizing committee and the USOPC,”

Imboden brought shame upon himself, his family, his teammates and most of all -- the nation. It was a selfish, disloyal and unpatriotic slap in the face.

At the very least he owes the country an unequivocal apology. Regardless, Imboden must be removed from the team and replaced with a fencer who actually loves the nation he is representing.

Imboden brought shame upon himself, his family, his teammates and most of all -- the nation. It was a selfish, disloyal and unpatriotic slap in the face.

“We respect his rights to express his viewpoints, but we are disappointed that he chose not to honor his commitment," Jones said in the statement. "Our leadership are reviewing what consequences may result.”

Quite frankly, he should've been yanked off the platform, stripped of his medal, ordered to turn in his uniform, and instructed to find his own way back to the United States.

Just because an athlete is a perpetually offended millennial snowflake is no excuse to be an unpatriotic jerk.

During the family deployment town hall Friday the honored the flag and country and young men and women, with the pledge. There were approx. 800 people in the huge room made up of approx. 500 being deployed and the rest family members. The room was a representation of all races and sexes, religions, political reference, etc. I noticed how much respect everyone had for each other and there was a since of pride in the room for these men and women going to represent and serve our country. Im glad no one kneeled or burnt the flag!

I hate it when the flag is burned because I love the flag and all it represents, however, I also love freedom of speech and I will defend a person's right to burn the flag as a right to free speech. Don't forget the words "Give me liberty or give me death".

Agree 100% about serving to protect the constitution and Bill of Rights. However, if protester grabs someones flag and desecrates it that’s totally different. Just like any group that wants to protest but decide to also damage property or threaten people.

I'm with you 100% on those situations.
If I had some of my health back I would defend someone's property as long as it didn't seriously threaten my safety and would go farther to protect someone else from violence. I would not even allow someone to verbally abuse someone else because of race, sex, or some other minority status. I once slugged a guy for denigrating my wife because she's Asian and I'd probably try again if I could reach him from my walker. Maybe I could extend my reach with my cane.

The blatantly obvious Fake News tool of the Deep State continues to drive more and more voters to POTUS Trump's support.

CNN Rewards Disgraced FBI Leaker Andrew McCabe With Contributor Gig

By Kristine Marsh | August 23, 2019 12:26 PM EDT
[IMG]CNN seems intent on destroying any credibility they have left with the public. With three of its personalities, Don Lemon, Chris Cuomo and April Ryan all facing scandals for their behavior off-camera, and the network firing two of its few remaining conservative commentators, network execs thought it was the perfect time to add a disgraced leftist government official on as contributor.

CNN’s Oliver Darcy announced early Friday morning that the network had hired ex-FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, as a contributor. McCabe, as you remember, was fired by the FBI for leaking information about the Clinton Foundation investigation to the media, then lying about it under oath.

The news was met with a lot of mockery on Twitter.

    finally found signs of collusion

    — Razor (@hale_razor) August 23, 2019
@brianstelter cried and complained about people lying and then CNN hires a man who lied as a deputy director at the FBI. Way to go lol

    — Brandon Saario (@SaarioBrandon) August 23, 2019
McCabe made his debut on CNN’s New Day Friday morning, where co-host Alisyn Camerota quickly noted that McCabe had been fired by the FBI, two weeks before receiving his pension. She did not mention why he had been fired.

The irony is, this happened just one day after host Brian Stelter complained that Sean Spicer and Sarah Sanders were getting media gigs, or “fame and privilege” as he put it:

Wrote this about Spicer and ABC last night, now it applies to Sanders and Fox too: How should ex-White House officials be treated when they spend months misleading the public, then seek positions of fame and privilege?

    — Brian Stelter (@brianstelter) August 22, 2019
McCabe seems like just the kind of beacon of integrity CNN is famous for giving “fame and privilege.” Michael Avenatti, anyone? How about Lanny Davis?

Not to mention if Stelter is going to complain about ex-White House officials going into the media, maybe he should call out his own network’s hiring of former Obama administration officials Jim Sciutto, John Kirby, James Clapper, and David Axelrod, among others.

There are only two physiques while there are several gender types. There's man, woman, transgender man and transgender woman. There are even some who are born with both genitalia and how would you label them? Should have been candidates for abortion? Should be candidates for euthanasia? Should be fired from their jobs working at fundamentalist owned companies? Shouldn't be allowed to have a wedding cake designed for their marriage? Should be barred from serving our country in the military? Just what punishment would be unjust?

    FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
    Monday, August 26, 2019
DEA Announces Steps Necessary to Improve Access to Marijuana Research
The Drug Enforcement Administration today announced that it is moving forward to facilitate and expand scientific and medical research for marijuana in the United States. The DEA is providing notice of pending applications from entities applying to be registered to manufacture marijuana for researchers. DEA anticipates that registering additional qualified marijuana growers will increase the variety of marijuana available for these purposes.

Over the last two years, the total number of individuals registered by DEA to conduct research with marijuana, marijuana extracts, derivatives and delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) has increased by more than 40 percent from 384 in January 2017 to 542 in January 2019. Similarly, in the last two years, DEA has more than doubled the production quota for marijuana each year based on increased usage projections for federally approved research projects.

“I am pleased that DEA is moving forward with its review of applications for those who seek to grow marijuana legally to support research,” said Attorney General William P. Barr. “The Department of Justice will continue to work with our colleagues at the Department of Health and Human Services and across the Administration to improve research opportunities wherever we can.”

“DEA is making progress in the program to register additional marijuana growers for federally authorized research, and will work with other relevant federal agencies to expedite the necessary next steps,” said DEA Acting Administrator Uttam Dhillon. “We support additional research into marijuana and its components, and we believe registering more growers will result in researchers having access to a wider variety for study.”

This notice also announces that, as the result of a recent amendment to federal law, certain forms of cannabis no longer require DEA registration to grow or manufacture. The Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018, which was signed into law on Dec. 20, 2018, changed the definition of marijuana to exclude “hemp”—plant material that contains 0.3 percent or less delta-9 THC on a dry weight basis. Accordingly, hemp, including hemp plants and cannabidiol (CBD) preparations at or below the 0.3 percent delta-9 THC threshold, is not a controlled substance, and a DEA registration is not required to grow or research it.

Before making decisions on these pending applications, DEA intends to propose new regulations that will govern the marijuana growers program for scientific and medical research. The new rules will help ensure DEA can evaluate the applications under the applicable legal standard and conform the program to relevant laws. To ensure transparency and public participation, this process will provide applicants and the general public with an opportunity to comment on the regulations that should govern the program of growing marijuana for scientific and medical research.

The Notice of Application is available here: https://www.federalregister.gov/public-inspection/current.
