Interesting. I guess they are betting that the home owner is unarmed or afraid to put a bullet in their brain

These were professional thieves though, not your meth addicted thief that is looking for any money they can get their hands on for their next fix.

It was a great piece and really interesting to listen to how sophisticated of a system some of these professional thieves had. The planning and execution of their plans had a lot of thought put into it. Some of them studied their victim to the point of almost knowing every move they would make. I have never had my house broken into but have had 2 cars stolen (actually same car twice) and several break ins on my vehicles stealing stereo gear.

Bank guard who killed 3 assailants will not go to prison
The Prosecutor's office confirmed the man will not be prosecuted

    19 August 2019

On the morning of Thursday, January 3, the guard at the BAC Coronado branch frustrated the assault by three men on a woman her husband, was carrying ¢30 million colones to deposit at the bank branch.

In what can only be described as a remarkable event, the guard, identified his last name Garbanzo, defended the bank customers and in the process took out – killed – all three assailants (father and his two sons) in a shoot out in the bank’s parking lot.

Just like out an action movie, the guard, who was very alert and had a good record at the shooting range, struggled with assailants while he was fired on, in a cross shootout. Two of the assailants, Carlos Roberto Quesada Ramírez, 46 (father) and his son, Jessy Roberto Quesada Fuentes, 29, died at the scene; his other son, Daniel Quesada Fuentes, 21, died moments later in hospital.

The guard was also injured in the shootout, but not seriously.

The video and news of the bravery of the lonely guard went viral on the social networks.

However, since, many wondered if there would be any criminal consequences against the bank guard despite the fact that the videos show that his actions were fully justified.

The Prosecutor (Fiscalía del Segundo Circuito Judicial de San José) confirmed the man will not be prosecuted, that he acted in self-defence and to protect the potential vicitms of the assault. Now, it only remains that the Criminal Court dismisses case.

“The Prosecutor’s Office is waiting for the Criminal Court to hold a hearing, in which the prosecutor of the case will present the corresponding evidence to be analyzed and the petition is accepted,” said the communication department of the Prosecutor’s Office.

Philadelphia store employee shoots, kills armed robbery suspect, police say

By Travis Fedschun | Fox News

Police: MetroPCS employee shoots, kills would-be robber in Southwest Philly

Raw video: Dramatic surveillance video from inside the MetroPCS shows a man armed with a gun entering the phone store.

An armed man who allegedly tried to rob a mobile phone store in Philadelphia on Monday was shot and killed by an employee in a dramatic moment captured on video.

The Philadelphia Police Department said the incident happened just after 4 p.m. at a Metro PCS store in the southwest part of the city when an unidentified man who appeared to be in his late 30s entered the business.

The man was trying to rob the store when the lone employee inside – who has a permit to carry a firearm – fired at the would-be robber multiple times, striking him.

"I heard about 10 shots and I got out (of) the car to look around and I saw the guy that works there run out of the store with a gun in his hand," a man who wished to not be identified told FOX29.

Police said the robber was pronounced dead at the scene minutes later.
Debra Earle, who lives nearby, said she was rattled by what happened at the store.

“Very upsetting, very upsetting," she told FOX29. "You can’t feel safe walking down the street paying your phone bill right down the street from your home."

No other injuries were reported and the weapon was recovered, according to police.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing, FOX29 reported.

The Associated Press contributed to this report.

    That wasn't my point.
My point was that Maris posts mainly incidents involving minorities. I was in no way disputing that the culprit was a dangerous criminal.
Now, in this incident, no one was hurt except the culprit.
Here's an incident were an innocent civilian was murdered.

I like what General Mattis has said about the divisness in this country and he's right and it goes along with the trend for group segregation rather that integration and getting along through compromise and respect for one another.
He commented : “Tribalism must not be allowed to destroy our experiment.” The experiment is democracy and only infighting/inbreeding like rapid dog and segregating into tribes will challenge this democracy.
We then become like the middle east where hey have killed one another over centuries because of religious fanatics and tribalism.

I feel for the young people and my grandkids that will have to live under these conditions.
We must eat some humble pie as a nation and get back to what the founders envisioned and hoped for.

Ohio grandfather with gun stops intruder: 'They picked the wrong house'

By Talia Kaplan | Fox News
Ohio man speaks with the press after defending his home.

An Ohio grandfather with a loaded gun stopped a burglar who broke into his home on Tuesday, according to a local report.

Daniel McGown, 73, said he found an intruder in his Akron home and held him at gunpoint until police arrived.

“They picked the wrong house,” McGown told WEWS-TV.

McGown, a retired attorney, said he heard someone ring his doorbell several times around 5:15 a.m., then heard someone yelling from inside his house soon after.

McGown said he grabbed his 9mm pistol from under his pillow and found a man, identified by investigators as Thomas Gaffney, 51, in his living room.

"I pointed the pistol at him and said, 'If you don't move, I won't shoot you,’” McGown said. He then realized he'd left his cellphone upstairs so he ordered Gaffney to walk up to the bedroom with him.

"I told him, 'you're going to walk ahead of me and we're going to go upstairs where I can get my cellphone and call the police,' and he said, 'Please do call the police. Please don't shoot me,'" McGown said.

"I told him to get down on his knees in front of the bed and lay down on it with his arms out, and I called the police and they showed up, and there he was."

McGown told WEWS his house had been broken into a few days earlier, when he was out of town. He said Guns, ammunition and laptops were stolen and disassembled televisions were left behind.

Akron police said they were investigating whether Gaffney was connected to the first burglary.

"If he had reached his hand towards a pocket or something where I thought that he might have had one of the guns that went away last night or the night before, then I might have been tempted to do that," said McGown, who reportedly has a concealed-carry permit.

"My home was being violated and here was a guy doing it in my presence," he added. "Here's the guy, and I just wanted to make him stop doing that."

Gaffney has been charged with burglary and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bread delivery man with firearm made honorary sheriff's deputy for stopping armed robber
Clayton County has a new honorary deputy

    Chris Enloe

A bread delivery man who was in the right place at the right time early Saturday thwarted an armed robbery at an Atlanta-area Hardee's.

According to WAGA-TV, Damario Kentrell Parrish entered a Hardee's in Clayton County around 6:30 a.m. Saturday, jumping the counter and pointing a firearm at a female employee while demanding money.

At the same time, Joseph Chilton, a bread delivery man, saw employees running from the store and heard a woman screaming for help. WXIA-TV reported that Chilton then sprung into action, retrieving a firearm from inside his delivery truck and confronting Parrish.

Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill said Chilton exchanged gunfire with Parrish — stopping the robbery and forcing Parrish to flee. Chilton managed to shoot Parrish twice before he fled, preventing him from stealing any money.

Investigators later located Parrish inside a local residence. Once he refused to surrender to police, law enforcement called in the SWAT unit. Fortunately, Parrish then surrendered.

Hill was so impressed with Chilton for "defending those who could not defend themselves" that he made the delivery man an honorary Clayton County sheriff's deputy.

Parrish is being treated at a local hospital for his injuries. He will later be transferred to the Clayton County jail.

Miami man tells cops he killed AK-47-toting man during robbery attempt

By Edmund DeMarche | Fox News

A Miami man claimed he was forced to "empty" his Glock into a man's chest during a brazen robbery attempt Monday morning, when the attacker pointed an AK-47 into his face and demanded jewelry.

Donovan Stewart, 60, told the city’s CBS affiliate that he was sitting in his van when he was confronted. Stewart, an NRA member, said he was with his son, 11, and his girlfriend at the time. He told the station that he is originally from Jamaica and is trained at handling a firearm.

"I am not going to go out like a punk," he said. "So I emptied my Glock in his chest."

City police told the station that they are investigating, but said it appears to be a case of self-defense.

“You want to come looking for trouble?” Stewart said. “Come to me. Come to me. I wouldn’t do anything like this to anybody and they picked the wrong person in this case.”

A reporter for the CBS affiliate said an individual approached him and told him the now-deceased gunman had robbed him at gunpoint last weekend, in an incident that appeared similar to what Stewart described.

^^^lol...do you ever even take the time to the things you copy and paste?

    1. The guy who did the shooting isn't even from America...and if you listen to the video interview he sounds like one of the immigrants your boy Trump is wanting to arbitrarily deport.

    2. I doubt the guy can even spell "AK-47".

    3. This article is not exactly "news"...it's about a week old.

    4. You may now resume your copy and paste fest.

Fascinating. This is the kind of vital news that should make the national news. After all this sort of thing just doesn't happen often.
