This kind of attitude is going to devastate the Republican party with women voters, quite a few men, too.
Have you seen the polls lately? Gallup shows pro choice way out in front of banning abortions. I believe all other polls show similar positions.
Bill is a libertarian...fed up with both dems and repubs. Im all for establishing more parties, term limits.
It's not your mind that I want to change. That's up to you. It's reality and if you don't support some abortion rights two things will happen. 1. Women will find a way and there will be more abortions, a counter productive result; or 2. The party and it's platform will be thrown on the dust heap, also counterproductive from a Republican point of view. i.e. Wake up and smell the coffee. Sometimes you've got to agree to disagreeable terms in order for the greater good. If you are in the right and people are equally exposed to your point of view, you will eventually prevail, a result that one should truly desire. Else, you're going to have to accept defeat.
Truly, I wish the government would make a concerted effort to educate our youth as to the emotional hazards of pre-marital sex, and the perils of aborting unwanted children. THAT'S where I wished some dollars were being spent. No matter how you slice it, if a woman aborts her baby, there will be emotional ramifications.
If you're waiting for the govt to raise and educate your offspring....please don't have kids. That's YOUR job as a parent...to instill your values into the little buggers. It's probably a priest you'll have to fear with the sex education thing around your kids after all. Religious guilt hasn't been that effective in combating teen pregnancies so far....nor stopping child abuse, rape, etc....you want to spend some money on this issue...how about on recovery from trauma and abuse....medical care for the results of abusive sexual domination by creeps who prey on innocent kids? STD prevention and access to birth control? I'm pro choice....in my view men don't have a right to take that choice away or ruin a child's life because of their own dogma
