Thats OK. Just needs great coordinators. I think defense is set for at least a little while. Need a great offensive coordinator.

 

You might want to go back and look at the clip of the Stanford fumble. It was a snap 100mph about 10 feet in the air that he jumped up and got a finger on. You might be right that he's only a good college QB, but it appears the examples being used to prove this are reaches.

 

They botched not one, but two snaps in a row though, and sure we can say Herbert had nothing to do with any of them if you want. It's easy to find people's mistakes and I get that, but I also think it's really hard to find games that Herbert looked like the best player out there. Which typically if you're a "Heisman" candidate, or supposedly a 1st round draft pick type of QB you should have a lot of games where that's the case.

 

I'm not sold on Herbert as a Heisman winner by any means (and that may be off the table after the Auburn game anyway), but I will say that a quarterback is dependent upon his receivers and the Ducks were missing 5 of them (Brenden Schooler , Mycah Pittman, JR Waters, Juwan Johnson, Lane Wilhoite). Not being able to get separation from defenders had a lot to do with long pass plays being available. It's going to be interesting to see how he steps up as his receivers return.

 

He's been way over rated because of that football guru ? last year said he was the #1 qb. I believe he has changed his mind now though.
Herbert knew he wasn't ready to become a pro after last year. This whole hype is just another example what television and social mtg can do.
We will see just how good of qb he is in the next 2 mths.

 

You don't think Herbert looked like the best player during the Stanford game last year? If not, who looked better and why?

 

Was he even that much better than Castello that game? Didnt he have a INT and only one TD to Castello having 3 TD’s?

I mean opinions vary and thats ok. Ive got nothing against him other than I just don’t see why people are so excited about him as Oregons QB. He may be just fine in the NFL, with coaching and all that.

 

I think we're probably much closer on our view of his potential in the NFL, I just didn't love your reasoning.

Terrible, but better than the Beavers game.

Not me. The Ducks’ problems look correctable. The Beavers’ “defense”? Not so much.

 

Yeah but the Ducks looked like they should have won the game for like 3 quarters and found ways to lose. Id rather lose because the other team is just better, than because my team just found ways to give up the game. Like the WCF’s the 1st game was whatever, the next 3 maddening...
