Yep. Connaughton played well for the Bucks this year.

yeah...probably doesn't matter much. I can see the 'theoretical' Hezonja that Olshey is taking a flier on, and if Hezonja hit close to those marks he'd be a big help. I think the odds are against that happening though

speaking of trades and vet minimum deals, I have a couple of CBA questions. As I understand it, Tolliver and Gasol are both making around 2.56M this year; but their cap-charge is 1.62M. If either are traded, is the salary credit in the trade calculation the 2.51M or the 1.62M?

If I recall correctly a minimum salary can count as whatever a team wants it to count as for the trade to work.

It is one of those two. You’re welcome.

Think Hezonja is the 10th man right now.

    In and out the rotation.

Tolliver plays more imo and I'd probably have Skal ahead of him too if Gasol isn't healthy.

I think similarly, Hezonja will get opportunities, I see him being used (minutes wise) like Layman was last year.

I don’t see Tolliver playing over Hezonja, or at least I think Hezonja gets first crack at playing time. When Tolliver was signed pretty much every quote was about his influence in the locker room. Maybe he gets spot minutes here and there but his impact will mostly be off the court. If Hezonja and Skal bust..now that’s another story.

I hope that he is working on his body and game very hard this summer; I hope he realizes this is probably his last chance to become a rotation player in the NBA.

Me I think he going to be use as point forward to relieve Simons as the main ball handler. I see him in Turner's role with this team.

Definitely closer to ET than Jake. "Potentially" Mario gives us something we don't have but that Neil thinks we need......a pt forward. Can he be a better version of ET? He is a little bigger, a little longer, a little more athletic, and a better outside shooter.

Maybe he will suck like a few seem to predict, but it sure would be nice to have a combo forward on the team that can
dribble, pass. and shoot when open. I see him as a stretch 4 against some teams and a bigger SF against others. I am not saying he will be a star, just hoping for a better version of Victor Claver.

    These closing lineups intrigue me:

Dame, CJ, Hood, Mario and Zach
Dame, CJ, Mario, Zach and Nurk (Hopeful for this one by next year)
Dame, CJ, Hood, Zach and Nurk

Probably because he brings a different skill set than Layman as Mario can create for others where as Layman didn't have that skill set.

Here’s the thing, you’re not signing guarantees for the minimum. They all have question marks. When I look at low risk moves like this, I always look for the good in the player and see how that can help the team. Doing a microanalysis on a player like Hezonja would be a huge waste of time, because if he doesn’t play well he’ll be on the bench, on another team, or out of the league.

That being said, the good in Hezonja suggests he will be more of a Turner replacement. The only difference being you might see him more at the four. But offensively, the ball will be in his hands. I agree with @James lamphear that he will be used to help take the pressure off Simons.

yeah, statistically he's a better outside shooter if you're basing it on three's. Hezonja at .321 vs Turner at .296. However, if you're also considering 16-23 feet as outside shooting it gets closer as Turner has been better, .397 vs .382

I think they are the same...that being if they are shooting from the outside you're cringing as a Blazer fan. It's like Aminu leading a fast break. As a Blazer fan, enduring any of it is like chewing on tin-foil while shaving your head with a cheese grater

I really doubt that I will cringe when Mario takes a wide open outside shot the way I did with ET, and I really doubt I will cringe when Mario leads a fast break like I did every time with Aminu. We are talking about a whole different level of frustration.
