I don't think Hezonja will play much.

I think Hezonja is one of the most motivated players on the team this summer to improve and make a big impact. Wether it happens or not we shall see, but it sure looks like he is taking this seriously and will do as much as he can.

In my mind it depends on who Terry wants playing alongside Simons in the back court. Will it always be Dame or CJ? If so you may be right.

Personally I would like to see a Dame, CJ, Bazemore, Zach and Whitehead starting group.......and a bench that consists of
Simons, Hood, Mario, Gasol, and Skal. (Maybe Toliver alternates with Skal)

I admit that Herzonia looks a bit "robotic" with his play. But I think he could be a good complimentary player off the bench, and possibly even as an occasional closer in games when he is hot. Terry can always use a 81% free throw shooter at forward who can handle the ball. (Along with Dame, CJ and Hood)

stats get really skewed for Hezonja since his early seasons he played for about half a dozen different coaches on a couple of tanking teams....Tolliver is what he is...a solid vet Mario was introduced to the NBA on some really dysfunctional teams. He's pretty much what we got when we picked up Mo from Orlando....a guy who needs some burn and a good lockerroom

I think it's pretty funny how so many in this forum want to write him off before he even plays for us. I'm not sure what to expect but I am willing to observe before I pass judgement. Olshey seems to do a pretty good job of finding players that need an opportunity and with so many new players on the roster I have no doubt Stotts will take a serious look. Some people need to be more patient.

We don't need all of them to "Pop", but if 2 of them do, we'll be pretty good. If 3 of them do, we'll be VERY good.

Simons is! He grew a lot this summer.

Mario ate one of those shrooms that makes him really big!

They really need to play Super Mario Bros music and sound effects wherever he's on the court.

The key is Zach. I need him to become an Al Horford type on defense and a decent spacer on offense, and we're good. Hassan should be better than Kanter was on both ends. Rest of the guys are all icing.

Listening to the Lowe Post last night with Simmons, both of em vehemently disagreed with the notion that Portland should just be penciled in as a good team in the west. They even suggested that we could fall out of the playoffs because Whiteside sucks apparently, Nurk is out indefinitely, and our roster got worse.

    Jesus, when will they learn?

I like it more this way. Makes it easier to point at them and laugh.

Lillard is the best leader in the league and I don’t think it’s particularly close either. If he ever had a legitimate roster he wouldn’t squander it. He’d win a ring. Too bad the nba is full of egos and star chasers. Lebron should’ve came to Portland instead of LA. He’d have another ring.

I predict Hezonja will be a steal for us.

And you know how risky it is to predict anything around you jackals.

He looks like a scrub from a pick up game at the gym in this picture, ha ha. I'm actually pretty excited to see if he can breakout this year.

A point power forward is pretty intriguing, especially if it’s alongside dame and CJ. Hezonja looks like a tank physically, he’s definitely gotten bigger. He’s got all the tools to be a two way player, it’s just about applying it.

    Dame
    CJ
    Hood
    Hezonja
    Whiteside/Collins

Wonder if we ever see something like that.

He looks like one of those random ass dudes in old black and white NBA photos from the late 1940's when teams were all random ass white guys.

During the Blazers’ scrimmages over the past month, one thing has stood out to the holdovers from last year: The Blazers are playing at a faster tempo.

The reason is because their new wings — Bazemore, Hezonja and now a full season of Rodney Hood — are all adept at bringing the ball upcourt and pushing the tempo.

“I think this year more than any other year, we will be playing at a faster pace, just more possessions, and I think it will be that way because of our wings,” Lillard said. “Mario is a fast-paced player, pushing the ball in transition, passing ahead. He likes getting the ball passed to him, then getting downhill.

“He’s a really good playmaker in transition … same thing with Kent and Hoodie. So, with those three on the wing, it presents a different style for our team.”.......

.......There is somewhat of a buzz inside the Blazers when it comes to Hezonja. They think they have found something special......

.....This year, Hezonja appears to have made the biggest impression......

......“Mario Hezonja has opened a lot of eyes,” Olshey said. “He plays with thrust, gets the ball up and down the floor. He has great size (at 6-foot-8), can handle, makes plays, and guys have enjoyed playing with him. They’ve really embraced his skill set and what he can bring to the table. They’ve empowered him to have the ball in his hands more.”......

    “Plays with thrust.” Lololol.

But I love hearing that he’s going to have the ball in his hands. He will help take the pressure off Simons on the second unit. If the hype is legit, it wouldn’t surprise me if we saw him with the closing unit.
