Huntley leads No. 13 Utah past Northern Illinois 35-17

Four years ago, three talented players from Hallandale High School in the Miami area became enchanted with the mountains of Utah. Now the group, who has been dubbed the Hallandale Trio, has the Utes poised to reach new heights.

Tyler Huntley, Zack Moss and Demari Simpkins each had rushing touchdowns for the No. 13 Utes in a 35-17 win over Northern Illinois on Saturday.

Colorado comes back to beat No. 25 Nebraska 34-31 in OT

Mel Tucker's halftime message was simple: We've taken their best shot. Now, let's go give them ours.

Colorado hadn't touched Nebraska quarterback Adrian Martinez, whose jersey was clean and whose passing was perfect, and the Buffaloes had managed just 84 yards of offense and none on the ground.

"When we went out into the tunnel coming out for the second half, those guys were energized and ready to play ball," Tucker said.

In a scintillating comeback, the Buffaloes overcame a 17-0 halftime deficit in Tucker's first home game and sent fans streaming onto the field in celebration.

James Stefanou's 34-yard field goal gave Colorado its first lead in overtime and the Buffaloes beat 25th-ranked Nebraska 34-31 on Saturday when punter Isaac Armstrong's 49-yard try sailed wide right .

Slovis propels USC past No. 23 Stanford 45-20 in debut start

Not many freshmen get to climb the stepladder, hold up the sword and lead the Southern California band in a postgame victory party at the Coliseum.

No Trojans freshman quarterback has ever had a debut start like Kedon Slovis, who turned a tough matchup against Stanford into a celebration of his burgeoning talent.

Slovis passed for 377 yards and three touchdowns in a commanding performance, and USC rolled to a 45-20 victory over the No. 23 Cardinal on Saturday night.

California pulls off stunner, beats No. 14 Washington 20-19

It took until early Sunday morning before California could run onto the field in celebration, party with the few Golden Bears fans still hanging around and enjoy another victory over Washington.

Greg Thomas kicked a 17-yard field goal with 8 seconds left, and California beat No. 14 Washington 20-19 in a game delayed more than 2 1/2 hours due to severe weather.

Gordon leads No. 20 Washington State over Houston 31-24

After No. 20 Washington State struggled to get going early on Friday night against Houston before pulling away in the second half for a win, coach Mike Leach lamented that his team didn't have more time to play.

"I almost wish we had a fifth quarter because I thought we had more work to do and we could have grown a little bit more," he said. "I thought we were playing our best football at the end."

Anthony Gordon threw for 440 yards and three touchdowns for his third straight 400-yard game as Washington State got the 31-24 victory.

USC loses in OT ahead of tough stretch in slate

BYU should be getting accustomed to coming from behind to beat traditional powers.

Dayan Ghanwoloku intercepted a tipped pass in overtime after Jake Oldroyd kicked a 43-yard field to give the Cougars the lead, and BYU held on to beat No. 24 Southern California 30-27 on Saturday -- one week after a similar fourth-quarter rally to knock off Tennessee.

Eason throws 3 TDs, No. 23 Washington beats Hawaii 52-20

After just three plays, Hunter Bryant was celebrating in the end zone. Five plays later, it was Sean McGrew's turn. And after another seven snaps, it was Puka Nacua catching his first collegiate pass for a touchdown.

It didn't take long for No. 23 Washington to put last week's surprising home loss in the past.

"It was just exciting knowing that doing our job we can do what we want to get done," Bryant said. "We can put points on the board not doing anything special, not doing anything extra, but just doing our own job."

Jacob Eason threw a 47-yard touchdown pass to Bryant on the third play of the game and added two more and Washington rebounded with a 52-20 romp over Hawaii on Saturday night.
