Thursday Night Game: Giants vs Patriots. @TorturedBlazerFan , you and I briefly discussed the Patriots and their success. It's unreal seeing how the Patriots continue winning, but they do. Obviously that has to do with Tom Brady as their QB. A deeper look for their success also points to their Offensive Coordinator - Josh McDaniel and their receivers who are always willing to catch a ball in traffic. I am surprised more teams do not try to duplicate the Patriots' offensive schemes and strategy.
Me too what I think is surprising with all these teams that are so jealous of the Patriots and the way theyve sustained excellence is no one seems to be doing it from the financial POV. The Patriots just don’t over pay skill positions. The rest of the league gives skill positions crazy contracts. I know at this point its become a thing where guys just want to go there, but they’re so smart about not just giving in to guys.
Agree. Belichick will often trade a good player for draft picks and/or veteran players. He knows which players he can fit into their style and scheme.
Its all about the team with The Pats. Even Brady is a calculated play within the team goals. I heard on the radio they are one of the only football Dynasty's to not have a nick name for the team and/or offense or defense.
I think Belichick knows how to pick their receivers wisely. They often are not the best of the draft class and he rarely trades for proven studs. Most often he picks blue collar type receivers who don't mind contact. They also know exactly where they need to be especially in the slot and curl routes where Brady needs to release the ball quickly.
Browns starting the game strong with a great kickoff return and eventually ran it in for the touchdown.
