He's still super raw, and needs to work on, well, everything. However, is it just me, or is he really fast, and super nimble on his feet? Like guard quick.
Beats me. I guess big men don't mean as much as thru used to? 10 years ago, he would have at least been drafted late first round as a project big.
Finally, i get what i want. I really like his hunger to score and his confidence, not too bad from the FT line as well. He just needs to improve on when to be at the right place and how to set better picks.
If he's on the court ever this season we are either UP 20 or DOWN 20. Doesn't hurt bringing in a young player with potential, but he will have no impact on this team for at least the next couple seasons.
Moses would’ve been a lottery pick in the 70s lol. I also don’t think he’s a fit for everyone. In Portland he fits because “traditional” centers are put in a position to succeed. Here you can be successful if you just protect the rim, rebound, and show an ability to pick and roll. Shooting isn’t a necessity. Neither is switching on the perimeter.
Seems like the kind of guy Golden State would have picked in the 2nd round and in a couple years everyone would be wondering how the hell they found him.
What’s funny is Moses was a big time recruit out of high school, so it’s not like he was an unknown. He also had a pretty solid year at UCLA, relatively speaking, but maybe not the season some were expecting. It’s almost like he was a victim of his own hype. Whatever though, good for us.
Bol Bol is better though, right? Is it just because of Bol's outside shot? His shot blocking prowess? I don't watch much CBB, and never saw Brown, but I just remember Bol being projected as a top-10 pick prior to his injury. If we compare/contrast the two, what makes one a lottery talent and the other a UDFA?
We probably lose Whiteside after this year. I don't think Brown is far away from being a rotational big. He has way more confidence than players like T-Rob,Meyers and Vonleh, i can see Stotts giving him a shot.
Solid move, hope he continues to grow and develop! Obviously not a move for this season or next but most here know how most young guys improve and earn minutes by year 3. He seems to have all of the natural tools and the drive necessary.
I think Bol Bol has all the potential Brown has, but with a jump shot. That’s a pretty unique talent. I thought he was the best player at the hoop summit last year, a game that included guys like RJ Barrett, Darius Garland, and Cam Reddish. Don’t know anything about his medical though.
I like the comments from Dame “I’ve never seen anybody get better from the first day that I came back to now. It’s like a completely different player and I definitely think he’ll make it. He’ll be an NBA player. He’ll have an NBA career. I don’t have any doubt about that,” Lillard said after Tuesday’s practice." I think a well built team always needs to have a few guys like this that are a few years away. Nice to see the Blazers investing in the future.
Not so sure about that. There seems to be a few who are really excited about this move. I guess he is a quality practice body, I'll give him that.
We all are allowed our opinions, but I completely disagree with this. If you would be considered a "rotational big", you are usually at least DRAFTED right?
I'm excited about it because he has the potential to be something in this league. He's not ready and may never be ready. But, he has some really unique things going on for him physically. It's ok to be excited about a guy and also acknowledge that he is a project.
Not necessarily. Ben Wallace wasn't drafted, nor was Brad Miller. And those are just 2 players off the top of my head. Its not common, but not impossible.
