This is the problem with the old vets. Said he was upset that he wasn't given advanced warning he would be scratched. Are you clueless? You have to earn your spot. Coach doesn't need to give you advance warning. He says he wanted to know what he needs to work on. Are you clueless? Everything. You suck. I'm anti all these stats but there is something to be said when you basically are last in the NHL in every one of those stats they use. You do nothing well Mark. You don't beat forwards to the puck. You don't take hits. You don't hit anybody. You never hit anybody in open ice. You are never in the right position. You flop down too early almost every chance you get. Your puck handling blows. Wake up dude. The coach already cut you a break. You didn't beat Lindgren out in camp. You won the job because you are a vet. Reality check. You suck.

Really dumb penalty by Strome at the end of the period.

He’s a MAJOR reason our young defensemen aren’t progressing as we would like. They see him with his reach and afraid of hitting opponents, going into a corner and being afraid to take a hit to make a play on the puck and instead just turns it over and they see him staying on the ice and then they do it. He should’ve been bought out and not Dan G. At least Girardi was physical, his body just gave up on him.

Staal is done here. Thank you Marc for being a warrior all these years. How the hell did Lindgren not make the team from the start?

Marc was a decent dman until his pos brother cheap shotted him, was never the same player after that. The Rangers were quite generous to him over the years, he should keep it zipped. No surprise the Rangers have played lights out with his removal from the lineup, that alone makes Quinn a keeper.

If the dumbass continues to bench staal yes. Lundqvist to the canes makes all the sense in the world with the clowns they have in goal

Biggest problem was Staal got the current contract after a second serious head injury, Sather was quite sympathetic with Dolan's money. There is a striking difference without Staal's 6"4" sloth-like string bean body flailing about, constantly dropping to a knee to screen whoever's in goal but never getting a piece of the puck. Marc has plenty of dough to buy a comfortable seat in the box. Georgiev is in goal again tonight, Hank needs to wake up and at least be open to the opportunity a trade presents, great career just came up short, <Richter.

Staal is on the shelf for two weeks with an ankle injury. Lindgren scores his first.
