Holy crap. Watching the Warrior’s #41 pick kill the Blazers tonight makes me realize how silly it is to think that Zach Collins is ever going to be anything more than a journeyman player in the NBA. In only his seventh NBA game, Paschall has already shown more athleticism, scoring, rebounding and poise than Collins ever has in two-plus seasons. If players like Paschall can be had in the second round, it makes you wonder why we thought so much of Collins that we traded up to get him at the #10 spot.
And can't we admit finally that we drafted the wrong Collins? John Collins is averaging 17 points ands 9 Rebs for Atlanta. Stud. 19th pick in the draft.
I'm not sure about that but in the world of perfect hindsight, Portland came out of that draft with Zach and Swanigan; they could have come out with John Collins; Kyle Kuzma, and Derrick White.
Zach has been overrated for a long time. Shit Skal offensively might be already better than Zach. He does have nice defense tho.
So why hasn’t Collins EVER had a night like the one Paschall had last nigh? He’s had over two years to show us that ability and he’s never done it.
It’s just crazy. We’ve been grooming Collins for two years, and telling ourselves we just have to be patient and let him mature, and then this second-round pick no one has ever heard of just erupts and plays like an all-star. I’m starting to think that players can either play or they can’t. The good players are going to show you they belong in the NBA right from the start.
