Is he though? CJ is essentially on a 5/150 deal. Gordon is on a 3/50 deal.

But even if you don't believe he's a better value, Gordon is a multi positional defender, a good rebounder, and posted better assist percentages than CJ in the last two years. He's also younger, and we have someone behind CJ that could step into his role eventually.

I don’t think Gordon is that good, you’d be trading more for what he could be, and there’s more of a premium on scorers like CJ.

His scoring efficiency is similar to CJ's (54-ish% vs 55-ish%) for what it's worth. On less usage sure, but CJ is not exactly a "premium" scorer.

The price of no defense score-only guards is not 30M/year. The Clippers basically get CJ's production from Lou Williams at 8M/year. Oh, and Lou is a better playmaker than CJ as well.

Yep. In a heartbeat. What I have seen of Simmons has me sold that he could bring what CJ does. And a chance at Griffin would be worth it. Sorry CJ. See ya!

You guys are so quick with your "trade CJ" chants, but then when you try to find a better star who plays 80 games you're even faster on your way to hit a brick wall:banghead2:

There aren't many guys who are not insane, not injured and have star talent in this league.

You're right. This isn't Jerry West (actually Lawrence Frank) & that is a damn shame...

Frank (under the recommendation of West) was able to move Blake and avoid becoming a treadmill team. They have made extremely smart decisions (and also got a little lucky). I'm completely envious of their situation.

You're exactly right. They are extremely hard to find. That's why we're so lucky to have Dame.

But make no mistake, that list does NOT include CJ....

To be fair, they haven't won anything yet and if they don't win a championship in the next 2 years and both Kawhi and PG opt out they are absolutely screwed for about 10 years.

You score 20ppg, you demand special defensive attention and you can lead your team to victories without the #1 guy every now and then = you're a star in this league.

People here wanted to move CJ for Middelton last year and that idea seemed like a joke later in the playoffs.

Griffin doesn't play right now, he might be retiring soon with his injury track record.

This team will collapse with Dame playing without a co-star for 20+ games. Remember that Nurkic is not exactly iron man either.

This is the first season in which i find it hard to defend CJ, coach Smiley has a lot to do with it as most of our mistakes stem from his lack of leadership.

    Draymond/Poole for a CJ package.

    Love/Windler for a CJ package.

    What say you?

Interesting how everyone says how bad CJ is but then they want top players for him?

Cleveland and Golden State are both top 5 on the teams that don’t need CJ at all list.
